Missing Mileage Request
Over the years, I have had any missing mileage requests quicky addressed by email with the S/E desk; however, recently they refused to do so and required that I submit a letter with boarding passes by post. As this was for two short flights of 500 mile each, it was not worth my time. Is this new to anyone else?

I had the same experience this year. This was in the summer but I was not able to credit the miles on-line and they wanted a copy of the BP mailed. I did not have it as I have not kept them for years now, although I did start to keep the BP's until the miles post now and have had no problems since.

No problem as a pleb. All of mine have been dealt with, execpt the ac.com purchases. Still have not have them dealt with satisfactorily. Even had a phone call recently. Unfortunately I missed it, so responses to vmail has not resulted positively.

AE doesn't allow e-mails exchanged between agents and members...they can request it online or over the phone.
Why in some cases you can't call us or request mileage online? Because some airports can't do the crediting, they are not using the same system. There's quite a few Caribbean destinations and some airports in the US.
As for AC crediting it's usually quick if your flight has been taken more than 2 weeks after you send the request (online or fax or phone).

It can take up to 6 weeks to get an answer as the infos are all sent to the carrier. Did you keep copies of the etkt and the boarding passes?
I would give a call tomorrow but only if it's been 6 weeks and no less.
Did you send this to the Aeroplan Centre in YVR?

Who do I phone, any AE agent? (whats the number) I am missing 5400 status miles on a SA flight from FRA to JNB. I sent a letter with original boarding pass and a copy of my itinerary (with booking class indicated) to the Prestige Desk that was on the AE website. I have not heard a peep, from them not even an indication that it was received. I am still missing the miles. This was six week ago.

I sent it to Air Canada Prestige Pointe-Claire Quebec. This address was obtained form the AE Website "Request Mileage Credit" page. There WAS a link for status address (which no longer works) on this line:
*Air Canada Top Tier Members: please click here for your dedicated address.
This link no longer works. Mmm I wonder?
Which phone number should I use?

Ok good for keeping copies!! So many throw them away and don't realize that the bp are crucial for mileage request!
Hmmm...I was not aware of this special Prestige address...this seems to be the regular French mailing address...we give the YVR ctr address for all English speaking members and the one from YUL to French Speaking! Weird!
Let me see if the prestige requests were sent to th YUL office!

A mailed reply from AE stated SA have no record of me travelling on their flight!
2 calls, a FAX, and a further mailing to AE with additional evidence of travel (including an onboard duty free sales receipt!) sent in. AE advise they will recheck with SA.

My main object was to make E for next year, without these 5000 status miles (that are in contention) I had to do another MR to LA to push me to 36,000. I still want these miles and I think this is wrong, VERY WRONG having to scrape beg and plead for something that we should be getting.
I wish I knew a savvy lawyer.....!
