Copa ha released their *A award search tool and it can be used by anyone without logging in:

https://bookings.copaair.com/CMGS/Ai...=CMRED&lang=en

It shows how many seats are available - which is something the united website does not do. For Aegean awards you should be searching for 'saver' space.

Thanks for posting this. The number of seats only shows up when it is less than 5.

Tried the search tool but not much luck.

Booked YYC-DEN on United. 81 euros of tax(!), and a 20 euro booking fee. Whatever.

But United is telling me they can't put my United FF into the reservation, and as that stands right now, that means no e+, no priority boarding, no checked baggage for free, and no chance of upgrade. Agent even said that because of this (and they can see I'm United Gold), they can't put me in E+.

Is that expected, or should I try HUCA? I didn't think it was that restrictive using miles.

Thanks for posting!

I tried the tool a bit, didn't show any seats.
Awardnexus (ie Aeroplan) saw ANA F availability 3 days. The same availability was shown by ANA tool. Copa didn't see any of it.

On my first try, Copa saw some Y seats but searching the same dates moments later there was only the error "No flight options, please try other dates/routes"

Now, neither ANA nor Aeroplan has a saver option, and I don't know if A3 can see and book these seats.

Again some bogus taxes that Aegean is charging, should only be $50.56 or about 46 EUR - see picture attached.

Aegean charges a grossly inflated Canada Goods and Services Tax, which should be near zero for award tickets with a zero fare. There also should be no US international arrival tax on award tickets AFAIK.

This is what United charges in taxes and fees for a YYC-DEN award flight in Business Class:

Canadian Security Charge $9.30
Canada Goods and Services Tax $0.50
Canada Goods and Services Tax $1.20
Canada Airport Improvement Fee $23.20
U.S. Customs User Fee $5.50
U.S. Immigration User Fee $7.00
U.S. APHIS User Fee $3.96

That info came from ITA, not A3. But I agree, lots of taxes for a one way award ticket. If it wasn't going for $500+ USD I would have never done it.

After I booked my award ticket, I saw they incorrectly labeled my title as Mrs and not Mr. So I called them (way before the ticket was confirmed), and had them change it. Great. About an hour later, I got a phone call from Greece - they had said they would have to charge me $115 to make a new reservation but that my previously one would be cancelled and it would never post on my card.

Here's where I stand after 5 days:

-A3 website shows I have two reservations. I plug them into UA, it comes up as two valid ticketed and confirmed reservations.

-I don't see ANY charges from Aegean on my credit card. Nothing in pending or posting.

I don't know what to do. It's already a pain since I can't enter my UA FF number. I'm thinking about just letting it go and to stop worrying. If UA sees I'm double booked somehow, they shouldn't cancel both my tickets, should they?

Well, first of all, I'd give them a call again!

At any rate, this $115 "thing" is really strange. If the "sex change" was a mistake of theirs, they should correct it for free! You can easily prove your point, as they record all transactions made on the phone. On the other hand, if it was your mistake during an on-line booking, they could either change the details of the booking by charging you the standard 20 € or, alternatively, cancel your flight, refund you, and make a new reservation, again re-charging whatever they did in the first place.

As I wrote above, a phone call should clear the matter.

I read somewhere recently on FT that putting Mr instead of Mrs and vice versa is no problem. Maybe someone can confirm?

I'll try calling again. The $115 was the taxes and bookie fee in USD. Way back when I first made my A3 profile, I accidentally selected Mrs. I couldn't change my title in the booking profile, so i had to email my request to their IT and they fixed it (it now shows, greyed out, Mr.). I think that was the culprit despite it being changed.

This has been my experience. As a last resort you could always pull the "gender with which I identify" card if questioned.

Same experience here on a FI flight. My travel partner was accidentally labelled as Mr. instead of Miss.

Both OTA and airline confirmed it would be no problem at all as long as the names matched. OTA did make a note to the booking nonetheless about the mistake just in case, as they couldn't change it.
