Suitable for this thread too

I think all that has been said is correct. But may I add that some expectations were obviously too high. In that I mean some of the points being brought up are not a suprise. I am not too fussed about each SNU being 1 night each even if I think the realistic number a plat member should get is 3 to 4 nights per year. Diamond should be getting 8-10 nights given when you get to 26k status points. So for me they are not too far off the mark though a bit low to what it should be.

Only having 10 to 20 percent available is also not horrible but again below my expectation of more reasonable 25 percent or so. Why? Because Accor has many apartment hotels, budget hotels and etc which lack suites and make up well over half the number of total hotels. Newly integrated hotels also bring difficulties in getting them to standard within a year or 2. I think Novotel should get on the list but to be honest they usually only do have 1 suite level and on rare occasions 2 and when booking the 2nd cheapest room (Usually Superior or duluxe room) I have often been given the suite anyway as well with Mercure when requesting upgrade on arrival.

My main issue with SNU is that it is not clear what suite type is upgradeable unless you contact the hotel and it is unacceptable that suites above junior suite level are blocked when they have 3 or more suites of that type. Even 2 suites should be made available.

And of course pressure needs to be applied on Accor about getting european hotels to be gradually opened up to accepting SNU as well as this (needing the same rate business which gives hotels a lot of room to wiggle out of granting a SNU).

The 3 things mentioned above should take the highest priority for us members to focus on pushing Accor to fix in 2020. By focusing on a couple of important aspects that Accor needs to correct ASAP should allow for a more clear message to Accor what their plats and diamonds members want fixing.

Look at the consistent message of wanting breakfasts over the last couple of years that has partially been a success especially for those who travel in the Asia- Pacific regions.

I for one would be happy to forgo the SNU(s) and swap it for a breakfast in every hotel I book at either Platinum level or above ( ie every Platinum booking gets a free breakfast for all occupants of the room s booked on every booking not just two or three days a year) . This will be much easier to implement. Accor are almost there with the APAC breakfast and now the weekend breakfast .... just 5 days to fill

According to the Accor website when I checked my status.

Um, Diamond doesn't exist until January.

I will be Diamond and have confirmed with Accor both my eligibility and that it comes into effect in January.

I so am looking forward to booking into a F1 in France as a Diamond member. I am sure that I will get ALL the status recognition for the tier status there .... no probs .... lol

I did, once, many years ago, book as a very last second decision, to use an F1 near Toulouse once, and they were very surprised and confused ( in a nice way ) when I showed them the Platinum card. Got the best room in the hotel ( next to stairs and washable loos ) - never again lol - but it was 20€ cf with 150€ for the Ibis next door ..... spent difference on nice present to apologize to OH .....

It would have been better to have slept in the car ..... which was the alternative plan as suggested, but I overruled it ..... summer nights in France ..... mozzie paradise.

Dear hotel user,

Indeed, we have faced these last 2 days an issue in the display of our members' status.
I'll probably dissapoint you when saying that this defect is now corrected and that you should now see your Platinum status displayed.
Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience and let me know if you have any further question.

With my best regards,
Amy

Dear members,

You have a lot of questions about the Suite Night Upgrades and we would like to share some additional information with you.

First of all, some of you compared the former Fairmont’s President Club Certificates and the new Suite Night Upgrade.

Actually, the Suite Night Upgrades have been designed in a different way as the former FPC Certificates. They must be used at the moment of booking the stay.

For the moment, you can redeem them by booking with our Reservation Offices and next year, for even more flexibility, you will also be able to redeem them while booking online on all.accor.com

We understand that, during this transition period, you may wish to apply them on an existing booking; in this case, your current booking has to be cancelled to be rebooked again using the Suite Night Upgrade. Our Reservation Offices teams will do their utmost to do it anytime it can be possible.

In any case, please remind that your Suite Night Upgrades are valid until the 31st of December 2020, which leaves time to plan other trips to use them.

Thank you Gilbertaue, for answering the questions about the correspondence between Rooms and Suites and about rates correspondence.

I just wish to add that the Suite Night Upgrade cannot be used or combined with Ovation Rewards certificates, nor for bookings made with Visa Ihr or Amex Fhr.

You also had questions about the way we granted the Suite Night Upgrade this year.

With the launch of ALL this year, all Platinum members without exception were granted some Suite Night Upgrades regardless of their annual activity, in recognition of their current status.

The members who won’t qualify to maintain their Platinum status in 2020 will nonetheless still be able to use their Suite Night Upgrade until the end of their validity period. But, on the other hand, the Suite Night Upgrade will not enable a Gold member to enjoy any other exclusive benefits of the Platinum status, such as the free lounge access for instance (except if this benefit is included in the rate booked).

Next year, the members of ALL will receive new Suite Night upgrades, when reaching 14 000 Status points or 60 Nights and after for each new additional level of 4000 Status points achieved.
The Suite Night Upgrades granted in 2020 will be valid until the end of 2021.

Regarding the exceptions applying, we understand your disappointment. Please kindly have in mind that this offer is still under deployment and in progress for some hotels and some countries.

The list of exceptions will be updated regularly to reflect this evolution and integrate new participating venues.

Thank you for your feedbacks and please continue sharing your remarks.

With my best regards,
Amy
