I've updated the wiki to include the section from Accor's T&Cs relating to SNUs.
If anyone has the time and patience to improve the layout of the wiki I'm sure we'd all be grateful - I experimented with a [code] box and it took me ten minutes to clean up the mutliple breaks and boxes that resulted. Once we start to acquire data, it may be useful to create a new thread showing room-to-suite correspondences at individual properties (assuming Accor does not do this for us ;) ). |

Dear edos,
Thanks for sharing your concern about your new Benefit, The Suite Night Upgrade. Please allow me to bring you more information about this new benefit, which comes in addition to your existing benefits. Rest assured that you will continue to enjoy the “Upgrade to a next room category” benefit, this benefit remaining subject to the hotel’s availability. On the other hand, the Night Upgrade Suite allows you to guarantee an upgrade to a "Suite" for the price a “Room” while booking, provided that your booking is made in advance. In this context, each hotel offering this benefit sets a correspondence between a type of room and a specific Suite type. The type of Suite proposed depends on the room selected for the booking. The Suite Night Upgrade can be booked by calling Accor Reservation Offices or the Hotels. The conditions applying to the Suite Night Upgrade are detailed in the ALL Terms and Conditions of Membership available here. Should you have any additional question, please let us know. With my best regards, Amy Thanks for the information. Would you be able to elaborate on the above? 1) It sounds like most hotels will only upgrade from a standard room to the lowest suite category (junior suite?), whereas getting a proper one-bedroom suite would require booking a higher room category? 2) Are specialty suites generally eligible for or excluded from the SNU benefit? 3) Can SNUs b used to upgrade from a Fairmont Gold room to a Fairmont Gold suite at Fairmont properties? |

I booked a standard room and called to upgrade to a suite. The only suites at this hotel are 2 bedroom suites. They said the Suite Upgrades cannot be used for 2 bedroom suites. Is this accurate? The hotel is the Novotel Manly in Sydney.

Will the SNU receive the usual benefits of a suite such as exec lounge access?
In my case, I am Plat for 2019 but won't requalify and drop to Gold in 2020. Accor still provided me with 2 SNU awards. So I'd be curious to know that if the suite usually comes with exec lounge access, I will get it as a Gold even if my original booking is for a standard room without lounge access. |

I just asked my contact at Shenzhen Raffles. All rooms will only upgrade with certs into the junior suite category.
The next level up is the Raffle suite which they have 11 suites... No matter which room you book none of them will be able to be upgraded(using certs) into a raffle suite.. To me this needs to change considering the limited number and special status certs should have. It should definately include this level. Next level up is ambassador suite. They have 2 suites.. So In my eyes this is borderline but Maybe if you booked a junior suite it could. Then signature and presidential suites make sense of course as they are single suite types. But still the raffle suite Seems silly to be blocked off when they have double figure Numbers of the type. |
Ok, I've now made a few enquiries via the central reservation hotline and instead of being told which room category corresponds to which suite category, I'm being told what the room rate would be for a given suite category.
The rates seem to be identical to the most expensive published rate (BAR / "daily rate" / "best flexible rate"), and when asking the agent whether I could upgrade bookings made under a different rate, the agent told me to ask the hotel directly. So I'm wondering: Can any qualifying rate be upgraded using SNUs, or does one really need to book the inflated BAR rate? |
