Looking at a few winter stays in Whistler next year.

Example 1: Gold Jr. Suite: Sale Rate (fully flexible): $8000 for 7 days. SNU Rate: $11,500 for the same 8 days.
Example 2: Gold Jr Suite: Sale Rate (flexible) $9300 for 8 days. SNU Rate: $13,800 for the same 8 days.

These SNU's are getting very hard to use. Although give credit where credit is deserved, we have a stay at Faena New York soon where the Suite we are staying in is $16K for 4 nights, and the SNU rate is $8K, so there are still some diamond's out there.

And that's the problem with so many hotels now, where the sale price often doesn't stack with the SNU. Sometimes it does, but I find it hit-and-miss, how some promos are loaded to be combinable with a SNU, and others are not. It can result in what you're seeing, where the SNU value is negative, and it's cheaper to book without the SNU, which really should never be the case, but it so often is.

Fairmont Pacific Rim and Faena New York still have tremendous SNU value, for now.

Don't know if this belongs here in the SNU thread, or if it should go in the thread on website bugs. But, I seem to have 25 SNUs in my account, where I should only have 24. The annual SNUs have always maxed at 12 per year for me before, and for some reason, I've been credited with an extra.

Not that it makes a difference, since between the 25 in my account and the 24 in my wife's ALL account, I'm not going to even come close to using up 49 SNUs. Still, it's wierd.

The post was really about the IT glitch and the curiosity of why it happened. The extra SNU posted a while ago, around when I passed 30,000 points, at which points they posted SNUs bringing me up to 7 instead of 6. I was assuming that it would correct itself on the next posting of SNUs crossing the next 4,000 threshold, or once crossing 54,000 that it would still max at 12 total. So, it seems the posting is just based on passing any individual threshold and not with a check on the cumulative points vs. cumulative SNUs awarded, or even the annual cap. It did stop awarding SNUs at 4,000-increments beyond 54,000, but did give the 13th upon passing 54,000.
