Did you happen to keep a screenprint from your booking, showing which room the SNU upgraded from? I didn't keep a print of that screen on my last booking or any of the searches I was doing! I'm wondering if it's possible that the reason there's no longer availability showing, is something stupid like the base room to pay for is not available going forward. For instance, the hotel had a number of room categories that were slowly disappearing as they renovated rooms in the hotel. If the room at the RYH you upgrade from, has gone from inventory through attrition as renovations were completed, it could have the effect of no SNU availability showing. If I knew what the room category that was used to map to the SNU upgrade, I could see if those rooms are still available.

No. I don't know what category I was upgraded from. I believe that I made the reservation on line and clicked to use my Suite Night Award and ended up with a Luxury King Bedroom Suite which is stated in my confirmation email along with the use of the SNU, however my last prestay update email references the following: Please note your current room reservation for Fairmont Top Suites Experience is already confirmed for your arrival
I e-mailed the hotel about the lack of SNU availability, and the response I received was one of confusion. Because all dates have no availability, the reservations agent is thinking it's a technical glitch. She said her in-house reservations team doesn't have access to book with SNUs, so she honestly didn't know. I asked her if she'd mind contacting someone at the hotel in Rev Mgmt to see if it was an oversight or error, and if I can expect it to become bookable again, or if it was intentional that it was removed. I'll report back with what she says. |

Thanks for checking. Up until a month or so ago when they made some website changes, when booking with a SNU, it used to note "upgraded from xxx", so you know which room mapped to which suite. That seems to have been removed from the search screens.

First time using the upgrade vouchers
Good afternoon
I'm a diamond Accor member and I usually stay at the Sofitel St James in London. I don't spend too much time thinking about hotel loyalty programmes (perhaps I should). The Sofitel St James is excellent and unless the prices are truly outrageous I just rebook there each time. I use the many points I earn on Accor stays to reduce the cost of the next stay as much as I'm allowed and then pay the balance on a credit card - all of which keeps things simple. I also seem to get quite a few "suite night upgrades" because of my travels. I've never felt the need to use them at the Sofitel St James who always tell me that they've upgraded me (and I never check that because it's a very good hotel!). Unusually this week I found an opportunity to use three of these outstanding SNUs for an upcoming weekend stay in April at the Sofitel Fiji. I had assumed (without really looking into it) that a suite night upgrade was just that - I hand the upgrade voucher over to them - along with the payment for the room - and they give me an upgraded room compared to the standard room that I've booked. Same cost but I have to use up 3 SNUs for the stay. Having gone through that process, including a call with their reservation staff in AsiaPac to understand the pricing, am I right to think that using the SNU does not get me a "free" room upgrade as such but instead gets me a discount on the cost to upgrade from my original room to the upgraded room. The costs aren't outrageous either way but I just like to understand what I'm paying for and the website plus the call with their sales staff in AsiaPac left me none the wiser - so I thought I'd turn to the experts on here! Many thanks. |

Many thanks. Some hotels let you book the base room and upgrade you to a nice suite. Some others will force you to book a really expensive executive room and upgrade you to the most basic suite that cost barely more. In this case, if you were planning to only book the base room, then you could effectively think the upgrade it's only a discount. As you are Diamond, keep in mind that even if the upgrade is for a basic suite, there is still chance to get a better suite at check-in, but that's not guaranteed. |

I had 2 SNU valid until 31.12.2025, they have now expired. I though I can still used it today?
An error or I'm to late? |

An error or I'm to late? The T&Cs say: When a member has one or more Suite Night Upgrade(s) expiring on 31 December of the current year (year N), they will have until 11:59pm CET on 31 December of year N to make a booking and use the Suite Night Upgrade(s). |
Removed from the app - still there on the web. Think its a glitch ! Use quick
