In 2019, I will be spending over 80 nights in Accor hotels this year and around 85 flights with AF
Which is already quite a lot

gilbert... are you in same hotel as me?!?

its not just the status points... that is 86 nights in a mecure! (well... not all of them.... 3 nights a week though. my week holiday in SE asia probably earned 50% of the points!)

mecure launceston ... probably worst hotel on planet for loyalty recognition. front desk dont address me by name, never mind thank me for loyalty. have to ask different room allocation regularly. they go thru whole spiel of dining room hours etc ever time. contacted mgmt with a reservation issue once, NIL concession. but i get my free bottle of water every week....

and having said all that.. the bar and resto staff are excellent! they see me park my car in the street and they have my ice ready by the time i get to the bar.

(and i stay in the renovated rooms, which are very comfortable!)

I don't know. But if you took my posting on the FB group as being in the same hotel, then yes. But I have checked out and now back home.

I will know on Thursday when I’ll come back home, if I’m not finding anything for dinner 😬

Well as I aim to wind down and retire at the end of next year I was hoping to achieve silver at the end of this year. I haven't tried hard enough because I've hit gold!

Will do better in 2020.

ROTFL, I'm in a similar position but probably a year behind you. I'll aim for silver next year too!

1 remaining stay to reconfirm plat for 2020 😬

Just spent 40 nights at Accor this year

-80 nights than last year ...that have gone to Marriott (Titanium at the end of this year) and IHG (Plat thanks to status match)

no plan to reach Diamond at the end of next year. No plan to keep Platinum at the end of next year, maybe just Silver, because my target for 2020 will be Ambassador at Marriott.

On my standard business 1-2 nights stay at Marriotts in Italy, I have good upgrade rate (50%) at suite, even if those are stays at AC/Four Points/Marriott, so nothing luxury. And to be honest it hasn’t same value than an upgrade at a luxury property during the holidays, where I had just few experiences during this year (more starting from end of this year and next year at some W/JW/StRegis. I hope to don’t regret Accor 😃 )

But I found more comfort at Marriotts that at Accors (in Italy) and I’m happy to have switched to them

there is a soft landing, so if you requalify Plat for 2020, worst case scenario is that you'll be gold in 2021 (of course, providing this soft landing still exists with ALL).
