Grand Mercure Foshan Country Garden as platinum. I believe there were originally more grapes in the bowl - my girlfriend arrived at the hotel about 5 hours before I did and ate some haha .Overall, I think she displayed pretty good self control to not eat more though.

That's why we picked this hotel. We are paying a total of CNY 1096 for four nights here (booked during the private sale), so we couldn't really justify spending triple or quadruple that in the city centre. So far, we are quite impressed with the hotel.

Must say those that this is well out of the usual greeting we get where normally there are 2 bottles of beer or a bottle of wine and on the odd occasion both. However Elize who normally represents customer relations has just left on maternity leave and I suspect this could be part of the reason but the good far outweighs the bad

For a property managed by Accor, I was surprised I got anything. I got a suite and what looks like a towel pig with rose petals on my bed along with a welcome tray of fruits and cakes. I loved the pig, it cracked me up (Platinum status)

There was also another plate with sweets and a generic welcome letter signed by the GM.
The fruits and plate with sweets get exchanged every day even and the minibar refilled (which is free).
I have the lowest category room if somebody wonders.
Except my silver status was not attached to the reservation.
I wonder if I would have received only an apple if it was.
Just shows that actual loyalty to the hotel is just so much more valuable than what LeClub offers, which btw per reception, refuses to give me points as I had my personal Travel Agent book the room for me. (not an OTA!)
