Sofitel Sanya Leeman Resort is scheduled to open in January 2016.

Unfortunately, as of 26 December 2015, it is still not yet possible to make any room reservations at this hotel.

Also, the following hotels are scheduled to open in 2016:

Novotel ploenchit was the test ground hotel for the last version before it start to duplicate all over the novotel brand.

New Openings

There seems to be an addition to the Newcastle(UK) offerings in terms of a city centre Mercure.

I think it's a rebranding rather than a new build.

Just realised that there is an Ibis Styles opening this month in Osaka, at Dotonbori. The only other "Osaka" property is a Novotel miles out of town so this is a somewhat welcome addition. This adds to the Ibis Styles that was opened in Kyoto (near the station) I think last year or the year before.

On the website, they still have links to Best Western hotels and rewards program and one text says:

"For conferences, receptions, weddings and events of all sorts, we at Best Western Premier Hotel MOA Berlin have a variety of function rooms available to you."

Seems they only changed the logo on the site and no-one has been proofreading it.

2 new Sofitels: Singapore and Kuala Lumpur

I am very much looking forward to the opening of the 3rd Sofitel in Singapore. It's gonna be located at Tanjong Pagar which for some reason is sooo close to Sofitel So Singapore. So people now have 2 choices. I do wish that Accor could open a hotel at Orchard or Marina Bay Area. Preferbaly this time a Pullman hotel instead.
