The new email statements that people have started to receive today (see this thread) show that Accor is addressing this problem.

The figures in those emails appear to be wrong at least as often as not, however, and there's still no indication of requalification requirements when I access my account online.

I received a letter last week which informed me that my platinum status had been renewed for another year. However, the attached membership card has the expiry date as 07/2016, which is the same as my existing card. I emailed Accor Customer Relations and this was the reply.

We received your concern regarding your Le Club Accorhotels account.
In order for your account to reach the next level or to keep your current status levels, a minimum number of points or nights should be accumulated to your account over a twelve (12) month period (365 days):
Le Club Accorhotels Silver: From 10 nights or 2,500 points earned over 365 days
Le Club Accorhotels Gold: From 30 nights or 10,000 points earned over 365 days
Le Club Accorhotels Platinum: From 60 nights or 25,000 points earned over 365 days
As soon as you reach a higher level, you keep that status for a duration of twelve months (expiration at the end of the last month). At the end of this period, your status is recalculated based on your cumulated activity over the 365 consecutive days (number of points and number of nights).

After checking, your account already accumulated 26846 points and 26 nights. Kindly note that these are calculated from 31/07/2015 to the current date (28/02/2016).
Due to this, your account already met the minimum number of nights required to keep your Platinum status. Please be advised that an updated card will be sent to the address listed on your account within 2 to 4 weeks after the validity of your current status.
Thank you for your trust and let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Since I've been an Accor Plus member for long time so I'm not familiar with the regular Le Club account. AFAIK, some facts that I knew about Le Club activities:
1. Rather than setting same cut-off date, Accor has different cut off date on each members depending on the member activities.
2. Your cut-off date could be changed IF only you were promoted to the next level. Ie, you're Gold and your cut-off date is 31/07/XX, however you reached Platinum on 30/11/XX couple months after your cut-off date, then you will have new cut-off date; which is 30/11/XX+1.
3. However, if you stayed on the same level on the past one year activity; then you will have SAME cut-off date. This would apply on the same thing if you're downgraded. You will have same cut-off date.

Based on your case, your Platinum status should be valid until 31/07/2017. However, it won't show such until 31/07/2016.

Hi there people, just a simple question:

"points accelerator" earnings do count for status, correct?

I am trying to figure how many points I need to keep my Platinum status and having these count would put me in a comfortable situation, unless someone tells me the "10K 3x2-night stays" promos would count as well, I frankly don't remember.

TIA,

TIA,
At present all points (points accelerator, bonus and Places) count towards status.

From January 2017 onwards only base points will count towards status. This is all discussed in the thread WIKI thread "New programme details from 2017"
