23:00 update, the FA said we are free to deplane but the problem is not just UA but *all* airlines flight are unable to departure, is this for real?

They might reimburse, but I would not count on it. If you got your ticket endorsed they would, but if you just go buy on your own you might be in for a fight. They'll def give you a refund though, so if cost of AA flight is similar to what you paid UA, you'll be fine.

Definitely this is only UA, not AA etc.

I can access AA.com, but cannot get to any of my reservations, either via direct link (which I have bookmarked) or through logging in and waiting for it so show my reservations.

No problems logging in or even doing an SDC/Checkin - although the latter was a little slow.
Edit: spoke to soon. Went back to the homepage and had been logged out, and now I can't login again.

Very slow, but still up for me - and here I was thinking it shut down to complete the herculean task of finally posting my upgraded LH segments after the requisite month waiting period...unfortunately not! Sigh...guess I need to call..tomorrow.
