They might reimburse, but I would not count on it. If you got your ticket endorsed they would, but if you just go buy on your own you might be in for a fight. They'll def give you a refund though, so if cost of AA flight is similar to what you paid UA, you'll be fine.
I can't seem to access AA; it was giving me the same error trying to access UA (Gateway timeout/proxy error). Weird.
