No but a Platinum member you will have:
1. Breakfast buffet at the main restaurant or Sala during the cool season
2. Complimentary soft drinks/hot beverages at the Library
3. Complimentary happy hour beverages at Sala, Library, or BarSu from 6PM to 8PM
4. All day butler service that I mainly use for bringing tea, coffee, iced tea whenever I want
5. Complimentary internet access
6. Complimentary newspaper via NewspaperDirect printing service that carriers hundred of newspapers around the world
What did I miss?
I have been there more than 12 times during the last year and those are the mainly benefits that I use.

Or sometimes it's six pieces per stay...
I've been told 3 pieces many times. One time they said six and then tried to charge me for 3, they removed this charge after some discussion. The next time it was back to three. Last time we went it was back to 6 and were sure to clarify this carefully at the time of checking in. No additional charges were forthcoming.

This is my favorite Hotel in BKK. Even if I have to pay for breakfast, it's every bath worth. I'll be there at 12th and 16th april and I hade over 20 stays at this Hotel. Sometimes they can't offer me an upgrade to a grand deluxe suite but as compensation I got a late check out time 8pm.

As a Platinum at the cheapest paid room rate, how many times have you ended up without an upgrade at all?
Without a room upgrade, are the above list of benefits considered "Platinum Benefits", or "Grande Deluxe" benefits--only available with the upgrade?
I'm concerned that, with them having possibly closed 10+ floors due to the turndown, there is less chance of upgrade.
Any thoughts?

Yes
Only once out of about 15 stays I did not get a suite.
You get these benefits as a Platinum even if you do not get a suite upgrade.
The internet benefit includes wireless and use of computers in the business center. The happy hour drinks include a light snack. BarSu makes a much better margarita than the Sala. The 3 pieces of laundry per stay is especially good if you are doing a daily mattress run with the WGS.

Gold Stays?
any recent gold stays at this property by anyone?
i don't expect an upgrade to a suite but am wondering if there are perks (if any) aside from the standard ones listed on SPG (checking of cash etc).
Thanks!

My last stay they did not have a suite upon check in but the front desk person said they would have one the following day and ask what time I would be outside my room and they would move all our stuff to the suite. Next day, stopped at front desk and got new keys to our suite and all our stuff was in same position as we left it in the previous room. That is service.

Breakfast Box
For those of you that have breakfast either via your rate or via being a Grande Deluxe room guest and leaving the hotel before breakfast starts in the restaurant......
They will have breakfast boxes waiting for you when you check out. The breakfast boxes have a container of fruit, a bag of pastries, a container with cheese sandwiches, a container of muesli, coffee and orange juice. Just let them know the evening before if you need this service.
I know of no other hotel that does this. My wife tells me it is rude to eat in a taxi but I would suggest at least having the coffee in the taxi as it will probably be cold by the time you get to the airport.
