Domestic Business Class on 757??

While checking some DL flights, I notice that the DL website shows DL 299 from SEA to ATL as having business class, not first, on the 757. Seatmap is the usual 24 seats. It's not just on one day - is this a fare issue or something else?

Just curious.....

Actually, I think it will have 22 seats as 6A and 6B won't exist. However, I think you will just see them grayed out. This is a plane that is used for "business" in the Latin American market. It is nothing like B/E seating but has a manual foot rest that extends from the seat. It has very slightly better pitch than a regular 757 but it's nothing dramatic.

DL 299 continues onward from ATL to Bogata, Columbia. This international flight calles FC business class but there is nothing different about the aircraft. This has long been an inconsistentcy with DL and causes no small amount of confusion.

Been on this type of 757 several times. I agree with the posting above. No different really than regular FC on the 757.

The footrests do make a big difference. All FC seats should have them.

The flight number must continue on internationally, thus there is Business (not First) inventory. The best you can hope for is domestic FC with footrests.

Probably right, but aren't there a few 757s with 4 or 5 rows and BE seats? I thought these were used for Latin America.

There are a few 757s with enhanced seats in the forward cabin but they're not BE seats. On these 757s, there are only 22 seats (as opposed to the 24 on domestic ones) in the F/C cabin, thus affording more seat pitch, as well as installation of footrests (from the seat itself, not the seat in front). These are used for BOG, SJO, and the forthcoming UIO/GYE flights, though they do occasionally make some domestic appearances as well. I believe these are the 757s acquired from ATA some time ago and are the only ETOPS-possible 757s in DL's fleet.
