Chase Luxury Hotel Collection

Tried multiple times today to ck rates at various hotels for Oct stays. I log into the www.LHRCollection.com website and search for city. I then select a hotel and ck availability for specific dates. For some reason, I'm then redirected to either a site that asks for the city (again) or to a page that lists hotels for Washington DC area even though on top of page it notes Orlando or Las Vegas etc. I clicked on "contact us" button, of course no email address is noted. I called cust service and spoke with primary rep, she transferred me to the LHR rep who said I should have shared with the PP rep

I asked her to ck rates for the hotels while I was on the phone, rates seem higher than the AmEx FHR program. hmmm.

One of the benefits of the Chase Sapphire Preferred cards that is not talked about much here or on the blogs is the Luxury Hotel Collection, It is very similar to the American Express Fine Hotel collection.

I believe particlemn is referring to this program, which appears to be distinct from the VISA program.

To receive the Guest Privileges, reservations must be made through a Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection Travel Specialist or on the website, LHRCollection.com. All exclusive amenities and Guest Privileges are provided per room and are based on double occupancy. Some amenities may only apply to select rates, may be subject to availability at check-in, and are not redeemable for cash. Amenities may not be combined with other offers, including tour operator or wholesaler rates and packages. Program benefits, participating properties, and Guest Privileges are valid through the current calendar year, but may become unavailable due to circumstances outside of Chase's control. All efforts have been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained. We reserve the right to correct any mistakes. Certain blackout dates and other restrictions may apply. This program is brought to you by Chase through an agreement with Signature Travel Network.

Ahh, I'm sure you are right. A friend had just mentioned the other program I linked. He is a savvy traveler, and found it very advantageous to get breakfast and internet included on his European travel.

Here is a breakdown of the three programs we looked at when seeing that the chase program is almost as good as the Amex FHR program but with a 95 dollar annual fee vrs 450 for the Amex.
the benefit example is for the La Qunita resort and spa. we booked for later this week with a rate of 98 and get all the benefits.

1. Chase Card, The Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection (Sapphire or Explorer card-level holders):
- Free Breakfast for Two Persons
- $100 Property Credit (we used ours toward food, beverage, and retail; also applies for golf and spa purchases; credit applied to bill upon checkout)
- room upgrade upon arrival (when available)

2. VISA Signature Luxury Hotel Collection (VISA Signature card-level holders):
- Free Breakfast for Two Persons (limited to $25/pp)
- $25 Property Credit (check details of what this applies toward at check-in)
- Room Upgrade Upon Arrival (when available)

3. American Express, Fine Hotels & Resorts (Platinum card-level holders):
- Free Continental Breakfast for Two Persons
- $100 credit (check details of what this applies toward at check-in)
- Noon/Early Check-In (when available)
- 4p.m. Guaranteed Late Checkout (VERY nice perk!)
- Room Upgrade Upon Arrival (when available)

There are many other benefits provided with American Express Platinum but missing from Chase Sapphire. I would not choose any credit card primarily on the basis of a hotel booking program because there is a free option: booking through a Virtuoso travel agent, which anyone can use with no restriction on method of payment.

There is also a MasterCard World Elite hotel program:

Actually I suspect that any Chase Visa Signature can access Chase Luxury Hotel Collection, rather than it being by brand of card. I have the Chase Sapphire Preferred World Mastercard, and it does not allow me to view hotel availability, telling me to enter a valid credit card number when it requests the first six numbers. However, when I tried my Dad's Chase Freedom, a Visa Signature, it allowed me access and allowed me to book, but I didn't so haven't tested my theory to the fullest but I'm pretty sure that any Chase Visa Signature can book.

Probably a silly question; but do you need to book through the Chase LHR collection website in order to get the benefits? Also, what if you are using points to pay for the room but the incidental charges card is the Chase LHR collection (United Club card)... any chance you'll get the benefits as well? Guessing no.

It seems like you do have to book through LHR.

What I'd like to know is if one can still earn full benefits from the hotel program (Starwood, Hilton, etc) when booking through Visa Signature or Chase LHR. For example, I have Starwood gold status, and generally use my AMEX SPG card to book Starwood hotels. I get 3 pts/$ for my gold membership in addition to 2 SPG pts/$ from AMEX for using the card. If I book through LHG, I know I won't get the 2 pts from AMEX (instead, I'd get 2 UR pts), but I would still get the 3 SPG pts from gold status?
