Actually I suspect that any Chase Visa Signature can access Chase Luxury Hotel Collection, rather than it being by brand of card. I have the Chase Sapphire Preferred World Mastercard, and it does not allow me to view hotel availability, telling me to enter a valid credit card number when it requests the first six numbers. However, when I tried my Dad's Chase Freedom, a Visa Signature, it allowed me access and allowed me to book, but I didn't so haven't tested my theory to the fullest but I'm pretty sure that any Chase Visa Signature can book.
Anyone tried doing that? If so great.

I also have this question. I want to book a hotel using points but then get the LHR benefits by showing the front desk that I have a Sapphire card. Does anyone have experience trying to do this?

We just booked at an InterContinental that is part of the LHR Collection but I went through hotels.com because there is an additional 4 points/dollar via the UR Mall. But I'd love to take advantage of the possible upgrade and also breakfast by showing that I have a CSP card.
If no one knows, would this be something to call Chase about? Or InterContinental?
EDIT: I did some searching on the LHR website. From the FAQ:
If I book a reservation directly with the hotel, will I still get my complimentary Guest Privileges?
No, you have to make your reservation at The Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection website or by calling a Travel Specialist at 1-866-973-2912.
So presumably, the same would apply if the hotel is booked via an external website, UR Mall, etc. Seems like the only way to get the benefit, is to book through the LHR site itself.

Chase Luxury Hotel Collection, Benefit of Sapphire Preferred
How are the rates on their internal booking sites compared to Expedia or hotels.com.
Are you paying for these 'perks' with a higher rate?
I sometimes book a stay for breakfast rate at Marriott which is higher than the basic rack rate...

I recently booked a hotel on the LHR website (it's a bit clunky). The rate was the same for the IC Willard (same as the best flex rate). Strangely enough, at checkout, I was charged a lower tax % (something like 5%, instead of 14.5%). It was a very nice deal because the Willard does not have an exec lounge, or breakfast in lieu of it - and both it, and a $100 F&B credit, are included.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a "stacked" upgrade.

While FHR/Virtuoso/Visa Signature mostly offer Best Available Rate (BAR, best flexible rate), I have found Chase's LHR Collection pretty pathetic. Never in my searches did I get BAR - always higher and sometimse the difference will even cancel out the benefits.

I have checked Willard IC for some random dates in Q1 2013, and what I have got thru LHR was always higher than BAR. I am surprised that you got the BAR for your stay.

The Luxury Hotels & Resorts Collection is HOGWASH !!!
I just made reservations @ the Hyatt Regency Hill Country for $215/night (7 nights, including breakfast) and the LHR Collection is quoting me $357/night (7 nights -same days/ same room type, same breakfast & one $75 resort credit). They claim their's is a "negotiated" rate for me.
So, I'd pay $1000 more to have a $75 resort credit by using the "special" benefit from the $395 annual Presidential Plus card?

MileagePlus Card - Luxury Hotel Collection
I received the Chase MileagePlus Club Card a few months ago, and have used it once to book a hotel on the the Luxury Hotel Collection network. I was able to book directly through the hotel, so I didn't have to use the (archaic) LHC website.
Two questions:
1. Does anyone know if the website (https://lhrcollection.orxenterprise.com/) or the phone number is the only way to book? As mentioned, I was able to go directly through a hotel once to book and they honored the upgrades / breakfast / dinner credits, but not sure that is common.
2. Is there a list of all of the hotels considered 'in network' that I can easily review without having to use that terrible LHC website? I hate having to search for dates by locations, etc. It's a total pain.
Thank you, FlyerTalk friends!
