I am doing the same and I think the answer to your questions are
1) 125,000 miles would be earned for a 2 year, 100K$ CD
2) No one knows, but the current thinking is that it would not generate a 1099. If it does, it would be for up to 2.5 cents/mile.

Need help, planning to open accounts with suntrust, bankdirect and ufbdirect to earn miles and would really appreciate referral links and offers details.

-there was suntrust 10k,15k account open bonus link, but cannot find it, can someone please post the link?
-any account opening bonus offers with bankdirect or ufbdirect?


I would also like to understand and get tips:

- suntrust and bb strategy. bb limit for debit card load is 5k, so i can effectively load 5k from my suntrust debit every month, and earn 60k skymiles per year per card?
- add square to this, and potentially earn 2.5k miles per month per card.

- bankdirect 100k cd, to get 120k AA miles
OR
- Ufbdirect has 120k AA miles limit per year but dont know how to manufacture spend

any ideas or tips to maximize this will be highly appreciated.

so if I have a premier card and open the checking account I can transfer the points to the partner airline of my choice???

Do I transfer them to my premier card and then to the airline? is that the workaround?
