Pretty good fare. Similar to exCMB found earlier but much cheaper. Thanks OP.

I changed my trip from CX metal codeshare into actual AA metal flight so that I can credit them to AS. CX Biz is really not that much better than AA Biz these days given that AA has improved their hard product significantly while CX Biz class catering on long-haul route is not exactly superb. There is also the possibility of upgrading to F cheaply if on AA metal, so there is that. If AA ends up running some mileage promotion, codeshare flights on CX are usually excluded so all things considered, better to stick with AA flights.

If you are EXP and book to fly this before June 30 you can get two long hauls on JAL with AA numbers, so that's an extra 24k bonus RDMs, for a total of 50k RDMs. (Long hauls on CX even with AA numbers are excluded from the long haul promo). All the business flights book into J, so that's 3x EQMs, close or more than 30k EQMs.

The J fare PEN-YVR is available for as little as $1,300, but with two long layovers, especially if you want it all on AA numbers.

I'm able to price out on google, then re-direct to AA.com. But it prices in USD. I'm in Canada and want to avoid that as you get dinged with the FX fees.

If I go to AA.com and sign-in, all the pricing is in CAD. But...all I get are CX/AA flight options. Not bad, but I want to fly JAL via ORD or JFK.

Tried doing multi-city, but could only get the JAL at cheapest fares with ORD-YYZ adding a detour via CLT. My wife won't go for that as she's already testy on the existing routing.

NEVERMIND...ANSWERED MY OWN QUESTION. IN ADVANCED SEARCH JUST SELECT AA FLIGHTS. IT'll CODE EVERYTHING TO AA, INCLUDING ON PARTNER METAL.
I thinking of this, one way by Finnair/BA from yyz to bkk for CAD$2200, $89 one way from bkk to pen, pen to yyz via aa and Jal, either business for CAD$2200 or CAD$2900 first class. u can do this in a four day long weekend. is it worth doing this?

I personally think that a $3,200 premium fare MR without at least 3 days on the ground is not worth it, no matter how many EQMs or rdms, but this may vary based on individual circumstances and preferences.

Also, many combos seem to have a 1-hour connection in KUL, which I would assume that should be rather avoided.

I am surprised no blogger has posted this yet, I am guessing it is too complex and esoteric for their taste, lol...

Judging from the posts here, many of us are using this for X-mas/NYE leisure travel so most likely, this bonus miles promo will be over by then.

Blogger are mostly interested in mistake fares so that they can package them into "amazing fares". This is not a mistake fare. They also want to be able to insert viable credit card sales pitch into their blogs and I think this deal is a little hard to sell given that it involves some rather complex code sharing, which is almost always complicated and problematic.

Can the AA agents pick seats on AA marketed and JL operated flights? Can we do it online with the JL pnr or if we call JL?

The fare rules say unlimited stopovers permitted, but the price jacks up every time I try to add one...

Once ticketed what happens if you want to change travel date? I know it is refundable but other than getting my money back would it be possible to change travel date (same routing) and still keep the ticket price? I am thinking of speculatively booking several tickets.
