Planning on taking my 15 y/o son to Vegas for January 2nd 2013 for 2 nights ( seems like there is low demand those night are considered value nights ) With that said, thought it would be a fun place to go fo 2 days. Where would the FT sages stay? I see allot of $30+ stays with promos posted here. Which spot is the most family friendly and best value and avoiding Resort Fees as well if possible. Just want an inexpensive room but let my sons First Vegas experience be a good on. I do now the strip well. Just havent booked in a long time.. Happy Holidays and Safe Travels

I've booked the Hilton Grand Vacations suites at the convention center for the nights of Jan 2 thru Jan 5 for $44.50 a night on their 'thank you rate'. There is no resort fee and wi-fi is included. I know it's not on the strip but that can be a blessing or a curse depending on what you want. I've never stayed there before but this seems like an OK rate and it gets pretty good FT reviews from people that have stayed there.

The Caesar's group properties (Caesar's Palace, Rio, Flamingo, Harrah's, Bally's, etc.) have no resort fee.

This really depends on your budget and what you want to do. If you're looking to eat some buffets and what not, the MGM properties with their dining and buffet specials might be more worth it than the Caesars properties without the resort fees.

Either way, I suggest a decent mid strip property so you can walk north 1 day, and walk south 1 day. Just browsing the strip and checking out all the sites will probably take you 2 days. I recommend something like the Flamingo for the Caesars properties, or Monte Carlo for the MGM properties.

If you're really on a budget, go for Flamingo, best bang for buck hotel with the best location.

Really depends what you're going to do, but if you're looking to hit the strip, I find that staying off strip, you end up spending more money on transportation and wasting a lot of your time as well. I rather spend an extra $10-20/night at a better hotel with a better location.

Probably the best deals of the year up at www.mycheapvegas.com

All the MGM properties, except the 3 lower end ones, all have show specials right now. Get 15% off + 2 comp show tickets.

- Zarkana by Cirque Du Soleil
- Love by Cirque Du Soleil
- KA by Cirque Du Soleil
- Criss Angel Believe from Cirque du Soleil
- Zumanity, The Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil
- Brad Garrett's Comedy Club
- Terry Fator: Ventriloquism in Concert
- Tournament of Kings

These are especially good for staying at lower end properties.

I mean i see 2 nights at the beginning of January at Monte Carlo for $39.10/night. Even with the resort fee, you watch something like KA or Zarkana, it's like you're getting the room for free and some!

If you're going 4 nights or more, remember to do the book 2 nights per person trick as well too.

Plaza - Book 2 Nights and get 25% off and free champagne

With the pesky resort fee in place, might just be better to book one night elsewhere and pick up a champagne bottle on the way! Rooms are still priced below average with discount.

Anyways here is deal, remember the furnishings are nice as they were supposed to go into the bankrupt Fountainbleau project: https://www.plazahotelcasino.com/res..._promo=PDDAY12

Exclamation 12pm checkin for Total Rewards Members

Recent trip to Las Vegas resulted with a $15 early check in fee at 2pm. Won it back but this really got under my skin. Check out was posted as 11am too and nobody would budge on waiving it.

Harrahs and Caesars are the culprits of this new manipulative practice. Why manipulative? Buried under Terms & Conditions like hotel resort fees were, not to mention check out at 11am and check in has moved up to 4pm and most pools closed for season there is not much to do but gamble.

I checked in at 1pm at Flamingo and noticed that many people were paying the $25 early check in fee, unaware that 12 noon check in is free, for all Total Rewards Members regardless of tier!!!

Really? I can't find it on this website showing their benefits, only talks about a separate check in lane. I finally got a host to take care of it, but it was extremely annoying and a real deal breaker to go back there again at all.

Is Caesar's code the same? Defaults to PH when I try that code.

Thanks in advance

That is weird, I am not getting it to come up on Caesars Palace website either.

The deal is posted now on www.cheapovegas.com but when click on link there is no place to put promo code.

Also did search for current promos and came up with nothing.

Great information! Do you happen to know what level the free tickets are? It's hard to imagine the high end tickets being included, but at any tier, this seems to be a super deal. Thanks!
