I would absolutely love a service to NKG - would stop the last business that greedy Franz from LH has from us.

I thought of one more thing: perhaps remove the expiry of Skywards miles; or, extend the expiry period by a few years.

1. I'm happy that my wish will finally become true: Taipei (TPE) - Taiwan.
I'm surprised it took so long to make it real!

2. The next great destination is Sapporo (CTS) Japan.
Sapporo: No direct connections to Middle East or Europe. Sapporo-Dubai-further on Emirates would be a blast.
Just 1 change (now you need min 2) and you are everywhere in Europe, Middle East etc. Time is money. So great.
Sapporo is a big airport, there is in/out business. Would work 99% sure.

Rumours from a couple of different websites that EK is finally going to get more slots in Canada this year.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-c...usiness-3.html

Expect things to change in 2014....

The Harper government has put AC on notice regarding Gulf carriers wanting more access to Canadian airports. Harper knows he can spin this into votes in the next election. You can expect a passenger bill of rights announcement before the next election too

AC has asked for time to allow new aircraft to come online. The agreement is they have until August after which you can expect an announcement from the government on additional access to Canadian airports from Gulf carriers.

EK is expected to get YVR & YYC x3 flights weekly each

I've been watching the thread on the AC forum, haven't been too inclined to join in on the discussion though.

I would not be surprised if this were the case. As I've mentioned previously, AC always used the 787 delay as an excuse for not being able to economically fly to the Subcontinent, however these 787s will shortly be coming onto property, so they won't be able to use this excuse much longer.

The potential routes would be DXB to YVR and DXB to YYC. YEG would not be included. Both flights will most likely be started with 77Ls then eventually upgraded as needed in the future. If the bilaterals really are changing/going to be changed, EK will also make 241/242 daily, and most likely add a second flight eventually.

New aviation agreement with India signed
http://gulfnews.com/business/aviatio...ndia-1.1275776

Any more details e.g. any new indian destinations or increased frequencies?

What about YUL? It's not a first choice destination for EK?

From the operational view it's quite interesting as there are some freed up B77L from August (AMS B77L > B77W; GVA B77L > B77W; CRK B77L > B77W). Either these B77L could be used for Canada or new destintions like BRU, OSL, BUD.

If EK gets more flights to Canada (I assume) they will use this instead of launching new destinations in Europe.

SEZ is going all B77L from 01DEC. Apart from that there is BOS, DFW, HND and LYS. That leaves as least 2 spare frames.

With EK expanding their presence into Africa, I wish for the following......

1.) Gaborone and Windhoek

2.) Early arrival into JNB - currently, the first flight arrives almost 11am which is a bit too late ....... something that gets in at maybe 8 am or earlier will be ideal.

3.) Kilimanjaro - I think Qatar already serves that route....

I'm sure EK would jump at the opportunity to launch flights to Canada. If 77L aircraft availability was an issue, they would probably launch YVR with 77Ws and YYC with 77Ls. Whatever the result may be, this will be a great enhancement to the Canadian market.
