SUPER GIN

Cork Dry without a doubt - distinctive, perfumed, no added chemicals apparently.

I just got back from the Heaven Hill (distributors of Burnett's) website. As my quest for the perfect Bourbon continues, I have before me about 3 oz of Elijah Craig. The purchase was made first, but there's nothing wrong with research after the fact when necessary. I promise to buy a bottle of Burnett's as soon as the gin space in the liquor cabinet clears out, although it will be a hard sell to my FIL, who insists on Tanqueray for his martinis. However, he left here 4 days ago and I don't expect his arrival again for another 8 months. Nice find, violist. ^

I tried Right gin last night in a G&T and found it a bit off. Too much black pepper for a G&T. Anyone had it in anything else?

I really am a fan of my Bombay white label. Not too much into the sapphire for some reason. My everyday drink is martini rocks, no olives, dry as the Sahara and it goes down just so well.

I have tried some of the others: Hendricks on down to Gordons. The taste profile of the Bombay white just works.

The Tanqerays are really only drinkable when paired with the overpowering quinine in tonics.

After years of drinking many of the aforementioned gins we discovered Old Raj a few years ago and have never looked back.

There is a local gin (San Francisco) named 209 which is also excellent, and we keep it stocked at home.

Gin isn´t my drink of choice, so I choose mostly on price. Seagram´s or Gordon´s usually.

Just came across this thread...

Gordon's for a G&T (lime).

Beefeater on the rocks w/ a twist.

And for a martini (very dry/twist) is Old Raj. ^^

I'm actually amazed this gin has not been mentioned since post #1 of this thread years ago! Old Raj is a beautiful gin (goes well on the rocks as well).

Not a big fan of Bombay Saphire at all.

I actually mentioned Old Raj three posts above yours. Funny that it took years for it to get mentioned as we love it.
