Let's crowd source things that have counted towards travel redemptions that are not so obvious
Successful
Successful - Plus Only
Unsuccessful (please mention the amount redeemed - important as anything under $25 cannot be reimbursed)
Don't forget travel purchase needs to be > $25 charge for 2,500 mile redemption
Partial redemptions are possible - however you cannot redeem against that charge again. So if you have a $500 charge and you spend 40K points against it, you cannot redeem 10K points for the remaining $100 of that charge.

Just a data point.
I hit my $1,000 spend on 2/13 and the 42K points posted today.
My next statement closes March 8.

Instant approval for the Arrival card. However, denied when I applied for the U.S. Airways 10 minutes later.

Same happened to me (see my post from yesterday at 330). Call reconsideration and assuming you don't have tons of pulls and your credit score is decent, they'll probably approve you.

$3k is still easy to spend for a typical MS'er...however yea it does suck more than $1k and for the normal person. Is the sign up bonus going up as well?

barclays arrival, world vs platinum??
hey guys, just applied barclays arrival world master card and got a platinum card, not a world card. i sent msgs to customer service and they said i do have the 40,000 miles offer when i make 1,000 net purchase in 90 days. and i checked my account summary, i also have the 2x miles per dollar, 10% miles back benefits.
here's the question, the barclays site said there will be fewer benefits for platinum card. i just want to know what's the exact difference between world master and platinum master? anyone knows??
thanks

Everything is the same, including the 40,000 miles. The only difference:
Additional benefits for World MasterCard Cardmembers
1. Up to $200,000 travel accident insurance
2. Reimbursement for expenses if your baggage is delayed or misdirected
3. Trip cancellation/interruption coverage

It does not have to do with Barclays or the Arrival card, it is the Mastercard branding. If you take a look on mastercard.com they share a variety of the benefits of each. The World has more elite benefits in general.

Anyone else having trouble receiving the 10% bonus on travel redemptions?
I moved all the way through to the "Place your order" page and it doesn't show 10% bonus.

You get the 10% bonus after you redeem. So you redeem 10,000 points, and they give you 1,000 back after you check out. This annoys a lot of people but incents you to keep the card.
