I got the IHG Visa with the 60k offer several months ago. In February, I asked to bump to 80k and got a secure message saying I would get the points. My March 24, 2014 statement showed a courtesy adjustment of +20,000 points. But the points have not yet shown up in my IHG account. Is this normal? If not who should I call -- Chase or IHG?

Incidentally, I was able to get approved for the 60k MC, though I have not yet tried to bump that one...

ETA: The MC statement closed on April 2, and the 60k points from that statement already show in my IHG account, which is what makes it all the more unusual that the 20k from 3/24 haven't posted...

One other strange thing I just noticed. My 3/24 Chase statement (with the courtesy adjustment) says:

+ 5X IHG Rewards Club pts earned on your stay 0
+ 2X pts on gas stns, grocery stores, rstrnts 0
+ Points earned on all other purchases 0
+ Courtesy adjustments 20,000
= Points currently unavailable for redemption 20,000
Total points transferred to IHG Rewards Club 0
Points earned this year on this account 81,012
Whereas with the 4/2 statement (the 60k from the MC) the statement says:

+ 5X IHG Rewards Club pts earned on your stay 0
+ 2X pts on gas stns, grocery stores, rstrnts 4
+ Points earned on all other purchases 1,000
+ Select activation premium 60,000
Total points transferred to IHG Rewards Club 61,004
Points earned this year on this account 61,004
I never noticed that the courtesy adjustment is "unavailable." What does that mean???

So you are saying you applied for a MC one while you still had a Visa one open? I guess that's news to most of the ppl here.

I applied for a MC:

--while I had a Visa open
--after the MC was launched
--but before I got a letter about the automatic 'conversion' to a MC.

I had to close the Visa to get the MC. It has a different account number.

Hi, I cancelled my visa IHG card today and reapplied master card using 80k link. I was told that the decision is pending and said "Our goal is to notify you in writing within 10 days; however, in some circumstances it may take up to 30 days.". In the email it said "We'll let you know of our decision through U.S. mail within the next 30 days. ". Is this normal? Can I call them?

Yes, call them. They will look for your application and will tell you decision. You may also ask them to reconsider in case it's not approved. But be ready to answer why you closed last one and reapplied for new MC IHG card.

Husband has been waiting to receive new card for over 2 weeks now.
His IHG account shows a deficit of points due to some refunds of rental deposits.
He sent a secure message to Chase and they are sending the card within the next 2 business days.
I hate being in limbo like this.

follow up: I called Chase recon, they said I already have the mc card so if I want to be reconsidered, they will but without reward offer. I decided not to pursue.
How long do I need to wait to apply for another IHG card and get the bonus offer?
BTW I still only have visa card at hand while applying for the new mc card.

It took about 2 weeks for the Plat status to appear on my IHG account.
As soon as I hit 1k the 81k points showed up on chase.com but I am guessing it will take 1-2 days for it to show up on my IHG account.

I noticed some cheap 5k "price break" nights, while I wouldn't really stay at these places due to location. 5k is pretty cheap! And I might try it out.

What do you mean with "showed up on chase.com"?

Very similar experience as you. Although I applied about 1 week earlier. The card came about the same as you and the Plat status as well.

I've also already spent my $1k. Haven't paid yet. Will be interesting to see how long it takes to get the 80,000 points.
80,000 bonus points posted on 4/9, only ten days after plat status hit and I haven't even paid my bill yet (although statement was provided). Interesting.

When you view the cc info for the card on chase.com it listed the 81k earned. 2 days later it showed up under my account on ihg.com
