I got the IHG Visa with the 60k offer several months ago. In February, I asked to bump to 80k and got a secure message saying I would get the points. My March 24, 2014 statement showed a courtesy adjustment of +20,000 points. But the points have not yet shown up in my IHG account. Is this normal? If not who should I call -- Chase or IHG?
Incidentally, I was able to get approved for the 60k MC, though I have not yet tried to bump that one...
ETA: The MC statement closed on April 2, and the 60k points from that statement already show in my IHG account, which is what makes it all the more unusual that the 20k from 3/24 haven't posted...

--while I had a Visa open
--after the MC was launched
--but before I got a letter about the automatic 'conversion' to a MC.
I had to close the Visa to get the MC. It has a different account number.

Hi, I cancelled my visa IHG card today and reapplied master card using 80k link. I was told that the decision is pending and said "Our goal is to notify you in writing within 10 days; however, in some circumstances it may take up to 30 days.". In the email it said "We'll let you know of our decision through U.S. mail within the next 30 days. ". Is this normal? Can I call them?

Husband has been waiting to receive new card for over 2 weeks now.
His IHG account shows a deficit of points due to some refunds of rental deposits.
He sent a secure message to Chase and they are sending the card within the next 2 business days.
I hate being in limbo like this.

follow up: I called Chase recon, they said I already have the mc card so if I want to be reconsidered, they will but without reward offer. I decided not to pursue.
How long do I need to wait to apply for another IHG card and get the bonus offer?
BTW I still only have visa card at hand while applying for the new mc card.

It took about 2 weeks for the Plat status to appear on my IHG account.
As soon as I hit 1k the 81k points showed up on chase.com but I am guessing it will take 1-2 days for it to show up on my IHG account.
I noticed some cheap 5k "price break" nights, while I wouldn't really stay at these places due to location. 5k is pretty cheap! And I might try it out.

Very similar experience as you. Although I applied about 1 week earlier. The card came about the same as you and the Plat status as well.
I've also already spent my $1k. Haven't paid yet. Will be interesting to see how long it takes to get the 80,000 points.
