That's basically it. Apparently neither BA.com nor AA.com will do this by default!
Ah cool now I get it

Small AA TP runs

It seems to me that all the USA based TP runs are aimed at collecting hundreds of TPs for a few £hundred, i.e. ~£1/TP.

But are there any good USA based TP runs with the same £1/TP for collecting only ~1-200 TPs?

Ideally starting from ORD, WAS or NYC.

Most of the ex-EU sale fares I've been looking at can be booked until 5 February. (The UK T+Cs say book by 22 January.)

Perhaps there'll still be availability on 1 February, depending on where you want to start from?

GLA-LGW-JER run and back seems difficult to book with LGW-JER Club Europe on a single booking, any suggestions ? Seems to only give Economy as option for class. Not really sure how to make muti city tool work for this. Had a hunt for the answer but gave up.
I suppose phoning is the quickest solution !

Please help !

I do not have much understanding of AA Domestic Flights.

I am trying to put together a RTW Ticket in First Class and one of the sectors is going to be JFK-LAX, the AA website says that First is available on this route on certain flights but when I put this in the BA calculator I get the following...

-The class of travel that you have selected is not available on this route. Please select a different class of travel.

Will this route credit 210 TP or 140 TP ?

Thanks

Hi,

I think this is a glitch with the BA calculator ( several posters have commented on this)

AA F JFK-LAX will earn 210 tps

( However if booked on a BA flight code it could end up as a BA buisness fare code ( even though you are sitting in F) and would earn 140tps)

Regards

However, JFK-LAX is usually 3-class I believe, so if you book it as BA J you will actually be sat in AA J. If you book it in BA F you'll get 210 TPs too.

This sector will have a QF code share flight number.

So if the RTW ticket is First it should credit as First. I just need to make sure that I am on a three class aircraft then.

I think the travel agent mentioned A class, we are currently waiting for some A class to open up where it is currently only showing F class.

Thanks for the help.

You don't need to be on a 3 class service. On a first class RTW it'll be booked in F as The top class in US domestics is always F.

If you had a business class RTW it'll book in F on a 2 class domestic and J on a 3 class domestic. This is because it'd book under the AA codes and there's no business fare bucket on a 2 class flight.

However, when using the BA codes they book as business class fares by default if connecting to a business class fare bucket, but in the F buckets if connecting to an F transatlantic.

While the RTW pax will travel in the First cabin, the booking class is invariably A which represents discounted availability. The F booking class is fully unrestricted First

Not sure if it's worth mentioning or not, but STT-HNL is a bit cheaper than SJU-HNL, and there's always the possibility of routing STT-SJU-MIA for a few extra TPs before American Eagle cans SJU-STT. St. Thomas has the same passport requirements as San Juan.

(Also, JFK-SAN is missing from the master list of AA domestic routes >2K mi. Often flown with the 763.)

I am looking to book flights to USA this Easter and would like to maximise my Tier Points - I am currently Silver but have not flown on any flights this year and so would like to earn at least 600 to maintain Silver status. I am looking to book in Business and would be starting from Newcastle. Would like to end up at Honolulu or Las Vegas with stops in NYC perhaps. Is there a program I could download to work out the best price combination for this trip?

Or is it just a case of looking up different combinations on BA or AA?

Many thanks
