The AA page linked to in the wiki says:
For $75 on flights between the 50 United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI), Canada, and the Caribbean, or $150 on flights between and connecting through New York JFK and London Heathrow, you can confirm an available seat on an earlier or later flight as long as the alternate flight: ...
So, the answer appears to be "no".

How can I determine where a fare "breaks"? We're flying LIM-MIA-PIT this summer, with a long MIA layover. This return leg is a sAAver award. I had asked in the SFDC thread, and seemed to be confident I could SDFC MIA-PIT, and thought I had mentioned it stated in LIM, but maybe not.

Because this is an international trip, am I out of luck for SDFC or standby?

I have a one-way all AA metal milesaver J award for ORD-CLT-LHR (2 hour transit at CLT).

Can I do a SDFC for a nonstop ORD LHR flight on AA metal when I arrive at checkin at ORD?

Thanks!

Did you read the wiki at the top of the thread?

International Same Day Flight Change is currently limited to:
Between New York JFK and London Heathrow
Also, there's a convenient link in the wiki as well:

https://www.aa.com/i18n/plan-travel/...day-travel.jsp

$150 on flights between and connecting through New York JFK and London Heathrow
Since you are not flying through JFK to LHR, the answer is no.

The reply above this one is helpful on the rules for INTL SDFC.

But you're also on a milesaaver J ticket, so why not just check for U space on the ORD-LHR and have AA reticket you. Same amount of miles and taxes, most likely.

Because I'm pretty sure there would have to be U space for you to do any kind of change - even of SDFC was possible on that route.

Are codeshare flights eligible for this? I am flying AA LHR-JFK on a full-Y ticket tomorrow and would prefer an earlier BA flight.

No. From AA.com

If you're really in full-Y is there even a change fee/fare difference?

No, but the flight shows Y0, wanted to take advantage of Standby. Just read the rules and saw that LHR-JFK does not qualify for same-day Standby, only confirmed change.

Edited to add: Flight back to Y1

Same Day Flight Change (SDFC) on Intl. Itinerary

In the past few months, I have made mutliple trips from DCA/LGA to PTY via MIA. About 1 in 3 times on the outbound, the Same Day Flight Change (SDFC) option allows me to select a different flight to Panama. However, on the return to the States, the SDFC options shows up almost 100 percent of the time.

Recently, I called AA to try to make a SDFC within 24 hours, and they insisted that it is not possible on international itineraries (in either direction) even though the option showed up online. The agent's explanation of policy aligns with what I've read on AA's own website, but why then am I seeing the SDFC option so frequently? IT issue? It PTY a test market for international SDFCs?
