PRE-ARRIVAL BEVERAGE

For Your Enjoyment

Chilled sparkling or still water with a fresh citrus garnish

Comments: Appetizer, same old, same old, can't AA really come up with anything else than the shrimp and salmon? Beef was really good, have to give credit for LHR caterer. Cherry Garcia as dessert hit the spot nicely, but my spoon was covered with stains, so I had to ask for a new one. Pizza was dry and tasteless and lemon tart extremely lemony and tart, could not eat it. No pre-arrival water service, this seems to be the case on most of my flights. Service ok, although nothing to write home about.

I had the beef fillet with mushroom bordelaise last week DUB-ORD and the presentation on that flight looked a lot better than on your flight. PHOTO We also had sundaes though it was a 767-300 service.

Just got back from Bogota, Colombia, flying MIA-BOG-MIA on AA. I haven't seen too much detail on the meal offerings on northern South America flights, so thought I'd provide details.

AA 915 on 5/20/2012

Boeing 757-200, Domestic Configuration

Meal: Dinner (4:40 PM departure)

Flight Time: 3 hours 20 minutes

No Printed Menu

Warm Mixed Nuts (served in plastic cup)

Large Salad with Diced Tomatoes, Olives and Artichoke Hearts, served with a Small Bottle of Oil and Balsamic Vinegar (no choice of dressing)

Bread basket (butter served on the bread plate, but not packaged)

Choice of:

Beef Filet topped with minced parsley and served with potatoes and red peppers; or

Rice bowl with shrimp and scallops.

Chocolate Ice Cream with marshmellows and chocolate shavings (no choice)

AA 916 on 5/26/2012

Meal: Lunch (1:40 PM departure)

Boeing 767-300ER

Flight Time: 3 hours 20 minutes

No Printed Menu

Warm Mixed Nuts (served in a ramekin)

Large Salad with Shredded Carrots, Cucumbers and Tomatoes, served with Small Bottle of Oil and Vinegar (no choice of dressing)

Bread Basket (butter served on the bread plate, but not packaged)

Choice of:

Pork (looked like it was stuffed); or

Lasangna (actually it was layers of cooked vegetables, such as carrots, eggplant and zuchinni, topped with tomato sauce and cheese).

Chocolate Ice Cream with Raspberry Puree (no choice)

Less nice meal than a domestic mid-con flight, but, overall, okay.

Looking for F Menu for AA136 LAX-LHR

Hi All,
I'm on AA136 in F in early September and am looking for a dinner menu for the flight. I searched the menu thread as well as this forum (even did a Google) but have struck out.

Can somebody help me out...

Thanks

The actual menu is probably not out yet. Looking at the menu threads or trip reports will give you a good idea of AA F food.

Merged with existing "international meals" thread.

Please follow the discussion here, as having individual threads for every AA flight creates thread clutter and also makes it difficult for members to find information. Thanks! /Moderator

I have a few from earlier in the year, but will change by Sept. I can get you one from late Aug when I fly JFK-LHR in F, but not sure Sept will be the exact same.

Hot 2nd meal in Y

For many trans-Atlantic routes, AA usually serves the deep dish (Uno) pizza as a hot 2nd meal (maybe this is for lunch and lunch flights), and I have been generally impressed that AA does it this way (777 flight). Their special meals have also been on mark I think (had the fish with tomato sauce and wild rice shown earlier in this thread and also had a mustard chicken with the mini potatoes shown earlier).

I have seen a second meal being served cold on many other airlines of equal or longer distance (on similar aircraft). This might not make or break a decision to choose an airline, but I have also found the AA staff rather resourceful including:

-Having plenty of water for self-service at the back of the plane.
-Leaving out plenty of leftover snacks and biscuits for those who need something inbetween in the same area

I have not seen this as common on other carriers for Y as one might assume.

So, in summary, AA I think is doing well on catering in Y on trans-atlantic flights.

AA106 JFK-LHR 11pm dep, meals in J?

Thanks for the very nice trip reports & photos. We'll be in J on AA 106, the last flight of the day, 11pm departure and 11 am arrival. I expect a decent breakfast before arrival; is anything served early in the flight, or do they assume all pax go right to sleep? Worth staying up a bit for? Thanks.

Late night dinner (appetizer served together with main course over salad or vegetables, then dessert). Continental breakfast (cold cereal, fruit, yogurt).
