It's my understanding that apart of one bird (F-GSQU) the entire 77W/772 fleet is either configured with Best J or NEV4. Can someone confirm?
If so, it's great news from a J pax perspective.

Yes, but unfortunately for me : I have in the coming days a long-haul flight in J (2-3-2) in a 77W with 2 rows of P and so, as per the wiki, it must be F-GSQU the last one with NEV3
I can't imagine in which state it is

That's unfortunate and rare Goldorak, almost like winning the lottery when the prize is back pains

Think about it as your farewell flight of the NEV3 product leaving AF's fleet. I'm sure you will manage but if you ever feel unlucky just think of the people in Y

Maybe you will get lucky and be offered a cheap upgrade to P. I think they usually sell them for around 900-1000 Euros.

I will feel lucky if I have a free op-up to P

I am surprised that no one can explain the discrepancy between the official AF announcement regarding the number of retrofitted planes and the wiki (which is more optimistic). According to AF there are more than one 77W with P not retrofitted.
I will not fly AF longhaul until I know for sure that all 77W with P have been retrofitted.

Anyway, NEV3 will still be present on a few A380s, so Goldorak might have other experiences with NEV3.

Very true, but those are more recent than the 777 (I think), hence my fear of the state of the NEV3 seat in the single 773 left with those.
I will try to see the registration of the plane, to check if it matches with the wiki.

For the registration number, you can look at a site like flightradar24 after you took your flight.

True, but I think that the NEV3/NEV4 on the A380 is in much better shape than on the 777 fleet. Not to mention the guaranteed direct aisle access if you choose a central seat and the lack of any middle seat on the plane.

The NEV3 on A380 is the exact same model as on 77W. The seat might be a bit younger but not by much (A380 introduced in 2009 if I remember correctly) and there is no risk of a middle seat.

That does not change its awful set of cushion angles that guarantees serious pains to my back for days. Never again for me if it can be avoided, hence no AF A380 for me
And it's so easy to find flat beds on any destination nowadays .....

I agree, the NEV3 has bad lumbar support.

If you are into an adventure I dare you to try LY 763 recliner business class seats at a 2-2-2 configuration. Had an important meeting in PEK a few months ago and couldn't waste time with a connection, the only option was the direct LY flight. After 12 hours on it I will never complain again about a NEV3 or even on a slippery slope seat makes the old KL product look good in comparison.

Dear Bodory
Obviously, some info in the wiki are wrong. Indeed, as per my post quoted above and as per the info of the wiki, I was expecting to fly F-GSQU. But finally, it was F-GZND, which is supposed to be BEST according to the wiki. I can tell you it was not BEST at all . It was a 77W with the old cabins (303 seats, 2 rows of P and NEV3 J seats). I just flew it on JNB-CDG. I could modify the wiki of course, but I prefer to let you control it as you superbly and kindly did it

According to my AF golfing partner, there are still more than five 77W with P that have not been retrofitted. And that source is eagerly awaiting the official start of a BEST 77W to HKG on 15 February and hopes for reliability.

How was your seat change handled? or were you in first so it didn't make a lot of difference? As you may recall, I am concerned about my J seat in April from IAH that shows as BEST but is currently being flown as NEV (something) and where I will end up if the new configuration doesn't come to pass.

I had no seat change. I was in J (not F unfortunately ). Since I booked (about 3 weeks before), I knew it was 2-3-2 config for my 77W with 2 rows of P. As per the wiki there was only one aircraft remaining in this config with the NEV3 version (F-GSQU). I was therefore expecting to fly this plane, but on my flight day, I saw that the incoming aircraft from CDG was F-GZND, supposedly BEST according to the wiki. But the seat map at OLCI was still showing 2-3-2 and it was indeed the case.
