Portland also has the most strip clubs per capita in the US.

Oregon is also one of the few states to serve full alcohol WITH FULL NUDITY....

Drink up....Stars & The Dolphin have the best looking gals...

They're the second best thing I've eaten.

PDX "Free Time"

I have a 4.5 hour layover connecting international to domestic. Is that enough time for me to leave the airport and do anything interesting in Portland?

Perhaps we should discuss what we mean by "interesting."

If that's what you want to call it. I understand it's not your bag and that's cool.

You could hop on the MAX, taking about 38 min to Burnside/Skidmore Fountain to enjoy Voodoo Donuts. Then stump town coffee close by then have lunch/dinner at one of the restaurants like others recommended. Lunch at the Little Bird is great. Owned by the same people of Le Pigeon. Drink at Henry Tavern's, Deschutes brewery or Bridgeport in the Pearl.

If you have are car and staying downtown I would skip the city stuff as it sounds like you are arriving early for something.

I would drive up to Mt. Hood and have lunch/dinner at Timberline Lodge, it is a hour from the airport. For all day Sunday, head to the coast.

I've done that exact thing before when I had some time on a trip out there for work... drive out to the coast through Astoria and Tillamook

Timberline is definitely worth seeing too. Pretty amazing when you get up to the snow line, although a lot is melted by this time of year.

This is something I could do on a 4.5 hour layover?

I know this is dorky, but do I have time to see the homages to Beverly Clearly in the area around Klickitat Street/Grant Park? On Google Maps it doesn't seem very far.

I had no idea Portland was so nice. My daughter, used to be a FA for Mesaba, told me about Voodoo doughnuts. I am flying in early because the fare is much cheaper. Also, Oregon is the ONLY state of all 50 that I have not visited. Interestingly, I will be returning in June, with my wife, for another meeting.
