It appears that your hotel is near the MacArthur station. There is a direct train from there to SFO airport, takes about an hour. If you leave your hotel at about 6:30 you should be fine for a 10:00 flight. Check with your hotel front desk about advise on getting to the BART station.

This on the other hand is excellent advice. BART is the fastest and cheapest way from Oakland to SFO, the fare is $8.60, and you can pay with a credit card. See www.bart.gov for schedules.
BART train, the Bay Area Rapid Transit, will be the cheapest and most convenient.

There's no need to upset the OP unduly. The DEL-EWR service is an overnight flight and lands before sunrise. If he misses the first flight of the day EWR-SFO, there will be about ten more to choose from in the coming 12 hours, so there's no chance of getting stuck at EWR overnight. And if he misconnects UA will of course rebook his onward travel. There's no "United might try to help you onto the next flight if there is one."
Also, if his two flights happen not to be on the same record, there are United agents out there who will try to collect penalty charges.
It's good that you have had better experience, and I hope for the same for the OP who, for all we know, is Global Services member -- the only category of United customer who can reliably count on assistance.
I am not implying that United is necessarily any worse than any of the other large domestic carriers in this regard. All too often, particularly on domestic flights, being treated as human rather than as "self-loading cargo" is, unfortunately, an unrealistic expectation.

No, I've had terrible experiences with UA, especially since March 2012, and I hate them as much as the next guy. I try to avoid them noawadays. But if your flights are on a single PNR and you misconnect owing to their own operational problems, they will rebook you, not attack or ignore you. You might have to stand in a line and endure rude personnel but you will get on your way. The OP is worried enough about his trip that we shouldn't be creating new unnecessary fears.

One more question is:
I am going to take hair oil, but i am having only carry on bag for me. Now the thing is i have a plastic bag as listed in tsa website but can i take small sachet or pouch of hair oil or it is compulsary to take them in the 100ml bottle?
Any other tips, should i show that bag separately ?

It is not illegal to do so, and in practice won't cause any problems. Some overseas moneychangers do this so that they can identify the specific bills that they gave you should you bring them back for some reason. One reason might be if you somehow get stuck with a counterfeit $100 bill and try to make a claim with the moneychanger - by looking for their stamp, they can tell if the bad bill is one that they gave you, or one you got somewhere else and are trying to get them to refund anyway. Another reason is that some moneychangers offer you a deal whereby you can turn in unused foreign currency once you get back from your trip and they'll give you back your original money, including the service fees / exchange rate. To do this, they need to know that you're returning the bills they actually gave you, and not some others you got elsewhere.

You'll check in for your flight at the terminal of the airline that you are flying from SFO-EWR. Assuming it's all on one ticket, you'll get boarding passes for both flights and your bags will be checked through all the way to Delhi. When you arrive in Newark, figure out what gate your next flight is leaving from and go there.
