US Airways used to offer an award of a flight to outer space, haven't heard about any airlines offering awards for moon flights yet.
I'm sure many people will spend several hundred dollars on Grand Slam 2011, solely for the purpose of earning miles. Glad to hear you're wealthy enough to consider that FREE, but I'm sure many others are not as wealthy.

Okay, a couple of things, for tracking purposes. No bonus posted. Not worried at this point, as it seems like it's just an IT screw-up.
Hertz (9/19) and Trackitback (9/22) posted today. DM shopping from earlier this week didn't. Happy to see the Hertz hit post.
Finally, and most importantly, happy new year to everyone. Kevin Youkilis goes to High Holiday services at my synagogue. Kevin, if you're out there, the Day of Repentance is next week. Feel free to bring the whole team.

I'm not sure I follow. Virtually all of the hit partners are paying US. They have to buy the miles. So, for example, when you open a sharebuilder account and sharebuilder gives you 2500 miles, they had to pay at the merchant rate for the miles. Same with SPG when you transfer SPG points, etc. The only exceptions are the magazines. Even AA has to pay for your 1 US mile when you use 4 AA to get 1 US on points.com.

Hmprh, I have 20 hits, of which 11 have posted (if you include today's iTunes Shopping Mall + Biscoff hits), but no bonus. I should at least have the 8 hit tier ...
And I know I registered. Hopefully they'll show up tomorrow. I've already spent over $400 on this, none of which I would have spent without the GS ($295 was for 20K miles, but those are useless to me without the higher bonuses from the GS).

Most of the hits are not directly PAYING US Airways, now sure they are getting money on the back end of the transactions from all of this and YES they are costing US money. They are not free for us, but it is a promotion. I just don't see the point in complaining, whining about how it should be better, etc. It is what is is. Just enjoy it.

I got a late start this year because we were in India and Nepal, but once I got de-jetlagged I got right onto it.
Without the relatively cheap hotel hits (SPG dines and using $10 incidentals on IHG reward stays, we are missing some of our usual easy hits this year. I justified the dine in SIN because we skipped breakfast, pigged out on the buffet at lunch and I topped it off with Singapore Slings and takeaway sandwiches for dinner so killed a whole day's food budget).
I'm going for a couple $40 Thrifty Car rentals in a suburb of Brisbane, USDM is in booking to get me to 33 hits. I want one insurance hit including the 21st Century, otherwise the other ones are pretty reliable.
Goal is 32 solid hits for 80K in each account. No way to get to 100K without spending over $60 for unwanted products or services and at that point it's easier and cheaper to use one of the 100% buy miles bonuses.
