Just got an email from US Airways with the subject "Your Grand Slam scorecard" and the following content:

"As of September 29, 2011, you’ve earned 7 hits for a total of 3,000 bonus miles! Don’t worry – there's still time to hit it out of the park! "

Did US Airways send exact hit number periodically last year? This makes it a lot easier to track one's progress. ^

Nice to see US Airways sending out something like that. While it's not a running tally, it's something that can help us validate what hits work!

I haven't gotten this email, but then again, I didn't get confirmation of registration or any emails last year about the grand slam promo. Interestingly enough I still haven't gotten an email either confirming I did or did not get my upgrade for Thursday.

Oh, great, I just got an email telling me that I have 15 hits as of 9/29. My list on the website, of course, gives me 16.

The only "controversial" hit I have is AR, and that seems to have worked for everyone else. Is it safe to assume that the sweep got run before one of my hits posted yesterday (I had three post yesterday.)? We're early in the promo, so I have plenty of time to make something up if I need to, but I'm a FTer, which leads to a certain amount of a neuroticism and "the-airline-is-out-to-get-me" mentality.

My email says 12 and my list says 13. I don't have the AR hit. I don't know what else wouldn't count. The Twitter promo, perhaps? I'll review all the Ts&Cs to see if I missed a minimum somewhere, but I think I'm good.

My email said 13 hits. I am guessing the Hertz or the Biscoff hit didn't make the cut off. The Mag redemption "Online Redemption" was questionable, but it seems that others are saying they got a hit for it.

Both the email I just got and my account show 22 hits, so I'm quite happy.

For those that have some discrepancy, besides recounting (obvious) I would check to see if the exact text of your posting matches up with what others posted here. I remember reading that in previous years for example some people who had miles manually added by different merchants had problems getting hits.

Although my officemax miles were added manually after I emailed them (I ordered before the website fix) and they count as a hit.

Hey, US Airways lurkers out there, for GS12, could you please add a check mark or something so that we know what was counted and what wasn't? Thanks.

You're right. I appreciate the email, it certainly helps, but I'm still not happy. It seems to be similar to the emails sent last year, and again doesn't list the specific hits or complete hit determination parameters.

Personally, I think US Airways could put just a little bit more information into the emails to make them so much more useful. Does the hit count include all hits that were posted by the specified date, all hits transacted by the specified date as long as they posted prior to the email, all hits posted before some specific time on the specified date, etc?

As luck (or dumb design) would have it, the number of hits listed in my email is off by 3 from the number of hits I believe I have. Two could possibly be explained because they posted after the stated date in the email (9/29/2011) with an activitiy date of 9/26/2011 and a posting date of 9/30/2011, but I still can't explain the other one.

I have not yet gotten the e-mail, but I'm loving the way this promotion is going so far.

That said, would it be that hard for US to list in the e-mail (or on the website) which items you got hit for?

Still a big thumbs up from me, I'm shocked how better run this is than some other promos I've been involved in.
