Kind of refreshing to be at zero. Have 10k through the first two weeks of January and 20k total for the year booked. So zero won't last long.
But it's almost refeshing to actually see a blank slate to start the year.

I reached 1P in the middle of our family trip this Xmas.
There was no confirming email, congratulations or acknowledgment in "My MP"
........just an immediate indication that I was yet 49,200 from making 1K.

Yea. I requalified for 1k a few days ago and nothing. It only said on the web page that I was however many miles from extra SWUs. Just another example of UA not getting the little things. I recall getting a nice email congratulations from AA when I requalified for EXP back in September.

This year I am very melancholy about flying on UA, and I really couldn't care less if my profile sat at zero...forever.
In fact, if I weren't 42K away from 1MM, I would likely be taking the plunge and toughing it out on AA in coach/paid J to get EXP.
I think it makes sense to lock in 1P (even though it's getting devalued out the ying-yang due to 75K tier and other SMI/J shenanigans), and get that over.
Since UA is becoming a more boring and generic airline, I am not motivated to spend a whole lot on them. I will hopefully get those 42K on L and T fares, and then I can get excited about my airline spend with AA.
