Is there ever a Double EQS promotion? I'm a segment boy. Too poor for int'l non-mistake fares.

Luckily I don't need it to maintain 1K or get 2 extra SWU for flying 150K this year, but I don't mind them offering it, either.
Should UA offer it? IMHO, if UA can generate additional traffic and improve financial results as people are flying more to take advantage of the DEQM, then why not? |

Have we stopped to ponder that if we speculate loudly on what price would be tolerated by most of us for the DEQM promo, that specualtion might become a self-fulfilling prophecy?

It will not come until late September or early October, if it does come.
Q4 is usually low season for the airline industry, so UA does not want to announce it now (if they decide to do it) as they would like to entice you to buy tickets during Q4. With that said, I personally do not care if they offer it or not. I only made use of it once (in 2003) and they got me hooked and never had to use it again :) |

Anybody have any predictions for if and/or when there will be an end-of-year Double EQM promo? As much as I'd like to see them protect the integrity of 1K status by NOT offering DEQM this year, I think they'll offer it again. It generates revenue for essentially no services rendered, and it encourages participants to fill seats during an off-peak season. It will be more expensive, but it won't be the big leap that it was before ($199 to $499). It'll probably be $599 or so. And they won't announce it until mid-October, just before the promo will probably start, so you've got two more months of speculation and angst ahead of you. |

Personally, I'd like UA to run DEQM promo this year as I'll be flying to SIN (yet again:D) in December. Sitting at 65K EQM, I don't need any more travel if UA runs DEQM. Otherwise, I'll have to come up with another 15K EQM somehow.;)

I'm guessing it will be identical to last year's offer.
