You mean Fontucky?

BTW, if there's seemingly more "money" in the Inland Empire than in Chicago, an important question must be asked:

"Why doesn't UA fly ONT - HKG?"

If we're making references to "The OC", it's not SNA. It's "The OC Airport":

a Southern California politician thinks that if the real Orange County changed the name of its airport from John Wayne Airport to "The O.C. Airport," more people would want to travel there

Don't forget the curbside valet parking. Where else can you get out of an A320 and into your CLK 320 in less than 5 minutes?

SNA does have the Alaska Airline factor. A one week advance purchase from OAK will run you about $120.

Indeed it is. Now, let's not turn this into an ONT vs SNA and a Raging Waters vs Wild Rivers thread.

FWIW - $250 is way down from 3 months ago. Most know that I fly LAX-SFO almost weekly and flights are down from over $550 to around $250 in the last few months. Used to be B fares only and now they have fully changable refundable V fares.

As mentioned there are many business folks that will pay the premium to fly LAX-SFO or SNA-SFO. Me included.

And as I used to live in the OC, I do miss that valet parking. Call when you land and your car is there all washed and clean and is out there before you even walk out. ^

However, I have a Land Rover not CLK (at least for another month).

Who drives a CLK 320 in Orange County? They must have the CLK55.

I have family in the Inland Empire. I make the marathon trip from Sydney every 6 months on Air New Zealand to the US. Usually fly to SFO then fly to ONT via LAX on a combo of 733 and those dinky prop planes from LAX ONT. I find the fares very reasonable. Great they upped the non stops from SFO ONT to 4 daily.

Now that I have worked out how to take Public Transport to San Bernadino ( a dump of a place is ever there was one) i just catch the IFLYLAX bus to Union Sq then Metrolink to SB. Much quicker - and cheaper - than driving.

BTW Last time I flew UA SFO LAX on a 757 I was upgraded to FC. All we got was a bag of prezels and two glasses of wine but what do you expect for a one hour flight!

Yeah, it's horrible here. Maybe I'll get away from it all and spend a weekend up on the south side of Chicago or Cabrini-Green...

SNA-Anywhere is just expensive. When Frontier entered the LAX-SFO market, I jumped on the fare (as I had to fly once a week). Cost makes SNA my least probable departure airport, and I live a scant 10 minutes from it.

I did pick up at SNA-OAK/SJC-SNA trip for $118 all in, but that is RARE.

I don't know what's sadder, the fact that you knew that, or the fact that *I* knew what you were talking about

CLK55 is so 2006. Get with the times. CLK63 is the new hotness.

You can't single me out on this one. There have been plenty of supporters in this thread.

I love So Cal, in fact I live there half of the time. I just don't really care to live in those areas I mentioned. Just like I don't want to live on the south side of Chicago nor Cabrini Green.

It's interesting that for the same dates that I am looking at, MOD-SNA or SMF-SNA is ~$100.

From some places in the East Bay at certain times of day, it would be a wash driving, time-wise, to either SFO or MOD. Same for SMF.

Just why do you think that 26L is closed/being widened?

Interestingly enough though, the most recent master plan for ONT that I've seen has plans for upgrades to ensure that the airport could accommodate the A380.

WN roundtrip fares from OAK/SJC/SMF to LAX/BUR/ONT/SNA are currently $99 all in.
