Yep

Last year, I did about 180k miles, averaging about 1000 miles per segment..

hated flights and airports by the end of the year. this year its all slow..

not a lot of flying, have done just about 30 segments

Segment based 1k - finally!

Ok, so tuesday morning marks my long trek back to 1k status - lost after living Down Under for a few years (and becoming Qantas plat instead). Hit million miler earlier this summer, but not nearly as much fun for me I think as 1k will be...

One question - given i tend to buy more expensive economy tickets (company paid for, of course), is there a specific threshold I need to hit to reach GS, or is it a secret handshake # that you only find out when you hit it..?

Cheers!
Corbetti (2 days till 1k!!!)

I am at 86 segments right now. Just booked 4 flights in Nov that will put me at 1K in segments (103)before the end of the year.

1st time to make 1K ...... assuming all goes well and I make it --- couple of crazy routes -but not too bad

I'm at 87.5k segments right now (~55k EQMs).

I may need to do a quick segment run around Christamas time, but I will make 1k on segments this year.

Next year we'll see if it was worth it - only reason I did it was because of the new C - I've usually been flying BA/VS TATL (and MFUing) until now.

Finally hitting 1K

Finally going to hit 1K this year. Been a Prem Ex for about 5 years now.

I decide to do 1K the hard way on segments a total of 61,073 miles...

I made 1K both ways this year...100,000 miles passed sometime back in June, and flew my hundredth segment today. Some of the glamour and fun has gone out of flying for me, but I do so love being out of reach of phone and e-mail for 8ish hours a week! I think that I wouldn't be a happy camper if I was doing 100+ segments and getting piddling amounts of mileage out of it, so my hat is off to the short-segment flyers who don't even get the benefit of lots of redeemable miles.

My home base is IAD. This looks to be a tight year, but I have never qualified on miles only segments, 5 years running. This year I have had to take connectors from BWI to reach the goal. I'd like it if they tied miles earned to dollar spent.

I am at 127 flights this year and almost at 100K in BIS miles so its been a bust year. I have made 1K on segments for the last 4 years now and when I tell UA people I make 1K on segments I usually get "You poor ..........THANKS you keep UA in business".

Its nice to know we help.

Will hit 100 segments in November and will be the 9th straight year of 100+ segments...not a fun way to qualify but LAX-SFO and LAX-ASE it is what it is...

Wink This Could Be A Record (maybe)???

My first flight on United was July 2nd of this year. At 77 segments right now. Should hit 100 segments by the first week in December. This is called "grinding it out to 1K" (-;

Fly more & get a better seat
