5/19 FRA-ORD Upgrade to C offered at OLCI for 462euro. This was on a saver award in Y, on a 744.

Declined, as E+ isn't so bad and frankly UA food isnt much better in C than in Y.

Glad I did not have to pay the $500 fee since the flight/gate at FRA today offered an upgrade (announced) to anyone that wanted one for 400 euros.

I wonder if this is available on tickets purchased through a travel agent...(e.g., one's employer won't pay for premium cabin travel)

Offered:

$61 USD for UA840 MEL-SYD from Y-C (declined)
$13XX USD for UA840 SYD-LAX from Y-C (declined)

Sorry I didn't notice the exact amount for SYD-LAX... I just blew by it as I knew I wasn't going to.

Arrow Premier Seating $1,000 XC to XF

Booked one-way saver biz class ticket SFO-PVG for a family member.

Interestingly, saw this "Premier Seating" offer

Fly first class for $1,000 (Okay it's $999)

Of course I declined. The difference between XC and XF is 10,000 miles one way and I am not going to pay $1,000 for that.

I have never seen this before. Anyone?

Have seen (and bought) Y->C for SFO-SYD at that price, but granted it wasn't on a saver ticket.

Just saw this on a revenue mileage run ticket (SFO-SYD-MEL). Premier seating was only offered on the SYD-MEL leg and was $85 to get into business. Declined. After 14.5 hours in coach - whats another one?

In your case, it's 32,500 miles vs 62,500 miles (NY -> XC), a difference of 30,000 miles for $1,299.

You can buy 30,000 miles for $1,000 so your deal is worse.

In my case, it's 10,000 miles for $1,000, or 10c per mile.

XY tickets SFO-ANC I was offered first class for ~$1000 (I assume it was for both travelers). I was also offered the "mileage accelerator" option on the award tickets which, of course, earn no miles.

Using Online Check In,
NRT - LAX @ 23 hours, was offered 79100 yen (~$878 USD) from E+ (L Fare) to Business... didn't accept, just closed the browser window.

Tried again this morning @ 10 hours before flight time, was offered at 58100 yen (~$645 USD)^

Anyone had this happened where the price changed?

At 645 this is tempting, anything around $500 I would have done it.
