I just calculated that it costs me less than 10,000 dollars a year to earn 1K by segments. If I lived in Chicago I am sure I could do it for much less. Best Case Scenario is at 4CPM. that is only 4000 buckaroo's and 200,000 RDM.

The answer from who bought lowest-available fares (or even W/V on int'l, when those was more sane) was typically $6-8k. That was certainly how much I was spending at the time.
