By the way, please recall that the OP stated that the alleged "making out" occurred while the two FAs were sitting on a jump seat! Probability says that the situation, as described, was highly overstated.

Agreed.. My threshold would be if my 3 year old was with me and this was inappropriate for her in plain site... But I think the less I get involved the better... so if there was nothing that would confuse her, I would stay out of it...

I would have gotten my blackberry out... (turned of the flash ) and pretend to use it LOL! Photo time.. or video mode?

Can't believe that it went all the way to the end of page 3 before someone asked for a definition of 'making out'! As I am no longer a teenager, I don't know the definition of that term.

Unprofessional whilst on duty and in uniform, but I have also learned on the internet over the years that my definition of 'porn on a plane' may differ from others.

Congrats to the female FA for finding a straight, 40 year old male FA to "make out" (whatever that means) with.

You're kidding right?? Ever been a flight to HI or FL? Photos galore, and no one gets arrested. When did it become illegal to take a photo onboard a plane?

Bed bugs in Business Class and now this?
What's happening with United?

I think this lends credibility to the idea that the OP may have a different opinion of what "making out" is.

The definition I think of when two people are "making out" doesn't involve having a conversation with each other let alone anyone else. Additionally, I don't usually switch partners in the middle of a make-out session. (Okay, maybe once or twice in college)

Sounds to me more like there was a massage therapy session going on, which is pretty common especially on long flights (although usually in the galley). I can see how a very conservative person might think this inappropriate.

The OP still has a semi-valid complaint about being continuously disturbed though...whether it was lascivious conduct or just plain noise.

Thank your for saying this. If I missed a rule change, I'd like to know. I've taken plenty of pictures in flight.

Also, if they really were making out, i.e. lip kissing each other, I hope I would have thought to snap a picture or take the video, and I never would have worried about being arrested. If they were annoying me, I might not have even been discreet about it.

And that is why I need a definition from the OP before I can make any more comment on the FAs. 'Three to four hours' is quite the lengthy session to be intimate on an aircraft. But again, I think that we are not dealing with the same criteria.

Also OP talks about movement, but not about sound. In my definition there is usually at least some noise involved (albeit perhaps not heard above noise cancelling headphones)

Two 40-year-olds on display in a jumpseat at 40,000 feet maintaining 1,2 or 3 for 3-4 hours?

Appropriateness, propriety and taste aside, I can't help but be impressed by their stamina! ^

Asked tongue-in-cheek I hope?

Maybe some of the questions, including the OP's, belong here, or maybe not.

Why do I bother?

http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6722,1036,00.html
Also, unauthorized photography, audio, or video recording of airline personnel, aircraft equipment, or procedures is always prohibited. Any voice, audio, video, or other photography (motion or still), recording, or transmission while on any United Airlines aircraft is strictly prohibited, except to the extent specifically permitted by United Airlines.
Since you agreed to these conditions when you bought the ticket, when you post a photo of two FAs engaged in on-board coitus, you are disobeying a crew member. Which in this post-9/11 insanity, will always get you an interview with a cop.

As to why bloggers get away with posting photos while on UA aircraft: because they aren't posting pictures of UA employees performing illegal, unethical, or unprofessional acts.
