Overcharged for E+

If my baggage woes weren't enough (detailed in another thread), I just found out looking at my CC statement, that I was overcharged for E+ on my Christmas LAX-SFO flights. 12/23 LAX-SFO, and 12/26 SFO-LAX.
Since I had 3 pax on the same pnr, we had to purchase E+ for one pax in order to sit together in E+. .bomb correctly stated that we were entitled to 2 pax in E+ free and only had to pay $14 for 1 pax each way. The CC receipt after the E+ purchase on .bomb clearly showed only a $14 charge. Unfortunately I do not have a print of that receipt page.
My CC statement shows 2 charges of $42, so it seems that they charged $14 per passenger instead of $14 for 1 passenger like .bomb said. I've already emailed 1PVoice but no response yet I presume due to the holiday. What are my chances of getting a refund for the excess charges? I would never have paid $42 to sit in E+ for such a short route, but didn't mind paying $14.

I don't think UA is trying to cheat you. I think their software is greatly fouled up. Before TED was euthanized, I booked C class award travel to Europe from LAS. The domestic connecting flights into and out of LAS (from IAD and LAX) were on TED and since my status had expired I went on line and paid extra for E+. (Yes, illogically, you get E- on C award travel if domestic F is not available for some leg of the flight.) Then, before my trip, TED was killed off and I got domestic F in and out of LAS. I called and asked for a refund of my E+ payments. UA agreed but the credit was less than it should have been. I called again and this time the additional credit was more than it should have been. The incompetence works both for and against UA.

As the OP still has the eticket numbers and the PNRs, the refund should be a single call away. This is one of the few occasions where disputing it with the CC is more work than calling.
I get overcharged all the time with little consequences in the end.

Disputing with my CC last time was a 3 minute call and they reversed it on the spot. When I called the airline, they said it would take 3-4 weeks and recommended I dispute with my CC to get quicker resolution

Get your money back. If Safeway overcharged you $28 you would you let it go? What about a waiter?
No, it's you money, ask for it back.

I do generally agree. But I found these little surplus thingies dead easy to claim back.

To those quoting a $28 figure: the OP was actually overcharged by $28 x2 = $56. Either sum would be significant to me, but $56 is doubly so.

Still seems silly that .bomb showed a total price of $14 and I ended up being charged $42 each direction.
It's a sad day when it comes to this. I was always brought up to believe that a CC dispute was a last resort when all other avenues fail. And unless the vendor corrects it on their end, couldn't they come after you for the amount that the CC chargeback similar to bouncing a check?
