Yep, the 752 has appeared on routes from LAX/SFO to all secondary airports except ITO over the years, with seemingly no rhyme or reason as to when or where it's scheduled. Sometimes you see it on SFO-LIH, other times on LAX-LIH, and other times on LAX-KOA, etc.
In any given month, you can always count on lie flats from DEN and all hubs east to Hawaii, and on some flights from LAX/SFO to HNL. Beyond that it's more of a crapshoot, though with the premium demand we're seeing to OGG, I would be cautiously optimistic that lie flats remain on SFO-OGG through the summer.

Yes, F fares to Hawaii buys a seat, not a particular type. UA does not guarantee the lie-flats to Hawaii in writing. Some routes are guaranteed lie-flats by virtue of a/c required to operate (eg EWR-HNL), but west coast flights allow 737/757 swaps. Sometimes one can convince an agent to switch to a flight with lie-flats, but if they reduce lie-flats from West Coast to Hawaii, there will be that much more demand for them on the remaining flights. Plus the schedule might not work for some.
I do think UA (from my observational experience) realized a bit more pre-pandemic for lie-flat flights scheduled to operate between west coast and Hawaii, and a/c downgauges then were pretty rare. Paying a little more for those flights were a little bit of a crap shoot, though - the lie-flats weren't guaranteed.

right, they ran the full June update last night. Not clear though if that is 'all' they are going to adjust or just 'a start'. Definitely seeing TCON getting a lot more flights incl. SFO-BOS back to lie-flat ... so likely less planes available for HI flights.

Had an SFO-HNL in early June that was on a 777-200 v.3 but after yesterday shows as a v5 with Polaris and Premium Plus, which (for now at least) shows up as E+. Happy to snag Premium Plus, though the Polaris upgrade was $350.
