I haven't flown UA since march, I want to fly SFO-FRA in Jan 2021, I take it hte polaris lounge in SFO is still closed, any rumors on a possible re-opening date??

I will just book YVR-FRA or YYZ-FRA on AC if there is no end in sight (I just prefer UA I am close to the MM) Thanks

I had to connect through IAD yesterday. The airport was PACKED. I walked past 2 closed United Clubs to the only Club open, and it was PACKED. No seat available that was social distant.
So I had a 15 minute hike only to be rewarded with a small bottle of water as I walked right back out for another 15 min hike back to my gate.

Not only a money grab, but failing to provide space to spread out in an environment that mask use is limited due to food and drink.

Ridiculous.

AA has opened a few more ACs, and Amex has now opened two of its Centurion lounges with more to follow later this month. UA needs to make a call on opening up some UC capacity, if even for select hours as relief.

on Tuesday I arrived at D3 and was planning on departing from D 32. Based on what my friend told me a few weeks back the C7 lounge was packed as well I didn’t even take the hike. I had about an hour or so layover and you’re right the terminal was so packed I think it was even more crowded than the pre-Covid days. Thanks for your update they should definitely open up another club. The D7 (I think that’s it) and C-17 one of those should open. My CRJ 700 to PHL I thought was going out of the A gates, My original plan was to take the moon buggy and run over to AF with PP and get a glass of champagne. Only in my dreams :-)

Currently in the DEN B East UC (the only DEN one open). The line for the bar was 8 deep and not many seats left open that weren't directly next to someone. I have been through the IAH UC (terminal E) several times in the last few months and haven't ever seen it this busy...

Yes. DEN is a zoo....and United has ben notably radio silent on opening other clubs (unlike AA - which, for example - has every club open in its DFW club but the one in E).

That, plus AA is opening up more ACs at non-hub locations.

Yep. I got that at DEN lounge on Sept 30.
Meanwhile, the PBJs at EWR have been gone for weeks.

Boy, I guess my timing must have just been bad going thru Denver yesterday. Club was JAMMED at 11 am. No food at all. Guess the transition from breakfast to lunch that used to be around 10:30 didn't happen before I left at 11:30 am. Bar line was 7 deep but moved. Mask wearing was an utter joke. Groups of 4-6 guys with feet up on chairs acting like a frat party. All had drinks in front of them but only drank when someone admonished them for lack of mask use. Bottom line, really glad there was food on my flight.

Who are the people that are packing the lounges? People with memberships? OTP holders? People on Intl J? If it's the later, I hope it is a sign of the PL coming back soon but I suspect that isnt the case.

If it's rained recently you can wander around and count all the leaks.

There is a kind of barebones aviation history display in Terminal 2, in the airside area near TSA, but you can probably spend 10-15 minutes at most with it. I have seen people like to selfie in the coloured glass connector to T1, and there might be some signage about the art or something.

Otherwise, bring some work or a movie, I suppose.

LAX UC opening hours for red eye flights

United App still says the LAX UC opens until 6:30 pm daily. This info is wrong. This UC now opens until 11:30 pm. I found that it was very much a ghost town in the evening. There were some snacks available in the bar area, including soup noodles. The food bar was empty, however.

They also open at 5:45 AM, not the normal posted time of 4:30 AM

I have often thought that DEN has a lot of retirees as members..... those who have done the math for the United Club VISA card and signed up. This is just a casual observation based on apparent age, with no real data to support it. I have also witnessed significant snack-poaching from this group as they leave the club room!
