I can confirm BOS is open. Went through o the morning of August 19th. About a third full. Better selection of food than in the before times (sandwich wrap bites, pasta salad, green salad, hummus vegetables and pita.....), Decent service

...The second factor is throughout the system (not so sure about ORD in particular, but given my not seeing a few people for a very long time I would assume...) a lot of the more senior people took the buyout. Guess what workgroup has a lot of overlap with club employees (given the relative appeal of working a club vs. gate not to mention the pay adder)? That means that a lot of people working in clubs today, especially as more have opened and hours have been extended, may have little to no practical experience working the clubs generally, let alone the nuances of a poorly documented...

Staff in PHX say they don't expect to see the lounge open until next spring/summer. Construction on the interior space is mostly finished, but not fitted out to United Club standard, nor is it furnished. Looks to be larger than the old club at T2 but not at all a big lounge.
DCA is still closed and with time running out in August I suspect this will also be a September opening, but no official confirmation.

I passed through IAH on Aug 14 and was handed the card immediately upon entering the club without having to ask..
Having gone up to the bar multiple times after that, I had no trouble other than the bartender telling me that the wine I was drinking was a premium wine and required a payment, but then reminded her that I'd already handed her my card and she kept it, and then she gave me the wine for free. Although, that did happen each time I went up there, so clearly she forgot me each time...

My other pet peeve is that flying *A (J, F) doesn't get you access to UC when connecting in the US on your return journey to the US. You do get access though flying out of the US.

Premium lounges like PL are not required, however UA advertised PL as past of their Polaris "experience". Other *A carriers (AC, SQ, LH, ...) similarly limit premium lounges access, so it was a plus UC provided access but not required for *A carriers.
As noted above, in the *A system lounges are generally considered departure lounges and your access depends on your departure status. Once again UA provides expanded access for UA long haul customers.
