Hate the delay on these transcons. My most recent flight was great, entire service was done within 1.5 hours of departure, amazing for transcon standards. But about 2 months back my ewr-lax transcon finished sundae service with less than 2 hours to go in flight which was ridiculous.

That's really bad. People work or sleep on those flights.

Exactly, and by that time, no one else wanted ice cream anymore. the aircraft was one of those premium heavy 752s with 7 rows of business and I was in 4F. The first 4 rows until me, no one wanted any dessert anymore. I wasn't sleeping since it was a 6pm departure 9pm arrival flight so I just worked until it came and took it.

Choice of fruit plate or breakfast sandwich. Was initially only offered fruit plate but when I discretely asked if GS still get first choice, was told I could get the sandwich. Excellent FA; extremely attentive the whole flight. Sandwich was meh. Biscotti and fruit were tasty.

I was all excited when you mentioned sandwich and made a mental note for next time - until I saw the inside. Sometimes I don't want to know how the sausages are made.

That thing that's supposedly a sandwich is pathetic looking.

Looks like the bread served on United could be used to make a mold of a key, like seen in 1960's spy movies!

Is that plastacine (modeling clay) or bread? Probably makes no difference as it likely tastes the same anyway.

Good to know you paid a few hundred or so for a discount elementary school lunch. I'll bet you wish you weren't GS for this flight....

EWR-GSO
CRJ-550
Snack

Flew the new 550 for the first time this past weekend. No PDB, and the FA takes your in-flight drink order while still on the ground. In the air, they make one pass with a snack basket, then leave the basket on the counter in front of a display case with other snacks, including a cheese-and-cracker package.

I was looking for any Vegetarian option for breakfast in the early morning ORD-LAX flight.
But was informed by UA that no such option available in United First Class for domestic flights.
Even though its a 4:40 hrs flight, special meals are available for 2000 miles or above UA flights only.

That is surprising. When a "meal" is available I thought that special meals also would be an option to choose ahead of time.

UA 422 ORD-SFO 15 Feb

Chicken Katsu. Tasted good but I'd have preferred a bit more sauce on the chicken. Used the meal preorder option.
