If this ends up working (as everyone else has said), it's a major plus. Since I'm based in ATL where many routes are all RJ's, and often have to make tight connections, it's always been frustrating having to wait and then making the dash to the next flight. Hope they do some good training for the ground staff at IAD who in my experience have been the slowest and worst.

Speaking of priority baggage, my flight landed some 20hrs ago and I still haven't seen my baggage! :p

We're 5 days out from July 1st. Anyone heard anything further? As a frequent RJ user (at least 16 RJ flights in the next 6 weeks), I would love to be able to gate check and have a reasonable expectation of getting my bag quickly. If it doesn't pan out, I'll just keep packing my duffle bag that crams into the overhead.

A square envelope from UA came in the mail today. "We're always keeping you (and travel) in mind," it said.

Inside was a yellow bag handle wrap accompanied by this message: "You're among our best customers, and the enclosed MileagePlus handle wrap is a token of our appreciation. Whether your next trip is for business, pleasure or both, it will help to identify your luggage quickly - especially when locating gate-checked, green-tagged bags on the jet bridge - so you can be on your way faster."

Can't wait to see how many of these pop up in the jet bridge!

If I receive this as quickly as I received my 1K credentials, I should see this sometime around mid December.

Maybe these are the new priority tags for gate checking on Regionals for 1K and GS. Guess I'll go buy a yellow one and change out the orange one I have on my bag :D

That would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it? They're so that the baggage handlers can deliver them first when they're gate checked, so they need to stand out from other luggage, and all be the same.

The handles being sent out are the new tags for RJ gate checked bags. Only yellow - and only for GS/1K.

Picture did not come through, at least for me.

On the road, so I have to wait for the weekend to see if I got mine. Does it have a bar code and serial number like the green tags? Or is it the equivalent of the priority *G tag they do for checked bags, in addition to the green tag?
