We discussed the eligibility clause re: GPU/RPUs many posts back, and it's not something anyone should count on. It could happen, and at the price it's going for now, it should.
But yes, I'm happy they're getting great interest in their auction item. So there's that...

The fact that GPUs are not expressly listed in the auction description as one of the benefits suggests to me that they're probably not included. These are arguably the most valuable benefit of 1K . . . I'd kind of expect them to be listed if they were.

It might've stood a better chance of happening accidentally due to IT, but this one's way above the radar now. It's definitely good news for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy, though!

The buyer may not even think it's a "lottery" for CPUs. Buyer may think (from the wording and lack of fine print) that the upgrades are guaranteed.

This is a school auction to support Mt. Carmel Academy - a preK-8th grade Catholic school located on the North Side of Chicago. As UA is not shown as listed sponsor of their "Emeralds Are Forever" auction event (held last night), I'm guessing that there is some other (perhaps parent/alum) connection to someone who works at Willis. The answer you seek may not be available on a Sunday, especially in the morning...

That would be me and I have no problem with that at all, this isn't a legal contract it is a charity auction put on to raise money for a charity to help. They had no idea how to market this and I felt good to help them out and steer them some traffic which this board obviously did. ^
