I've been on recent AA flights where between E+ and Preferred seating, there are a dozen or less open seats available and they obviously fill quickly, so I don't think that is a concern. I do know how marketing departments think about brand integrity, and there's no way they would allow more pitch on a small subset of aircraft for the same category of seats. So I agree, they'll leave open space, or stick a closet that can be easily removed.

What?

UA's pitch (and legroom) specifications are all over the place. The marketing people just throw a range up on the website and call it a day.

A319 Economy 30

B737 Economy 31
B738 Economy 31
CR2 Economy 31
CR7 Economy 31

UA E+ is generally 34'. How is that all over the place? I was responding to the post that suggested UA could use the extra space from 70 seat config to give E or E+ extra pitch. That's not going to happen.

Narrow bodies have pitches of 30" for E- and 34" for E+ if you look at the recently updated versions. B757s have the most generous legrooms (31/35 for 753 and 31/36-37 for 752).
Wide bodies have pitches of 31" for E- and 34" for E+ of most recently updated versions (e.g., B773 and Polarized B772) except for B788 and B789 (32"/35"). B772s have more variations.

The trend is towards 30" (E-) and 34" (E+) for narrow bodies and 31" (E-) and 34" (E+) for widebodies. Please do not forget the seat widths are shrinking on B772s.

One needs to fly on these birds and not take what one sees on the internet. There is NO WAY CR2 and CR7 have the same pitch in E- @:-)

And unless one is privy to some sort of internat UA communication, there is no way for any of us to know how UA intends to deal with new 70 seat E75s

so 30 to 31 for E-, 34+ for E+, pretty consistent considering there are many types of E+ seats, some are significantly better due to exit location etc.

That was a response to a claim that UA wouldn't possibly add pitch on these 70-seat E-175s because the marketing people wouldn't allow them to do that, for consistency's sake. Clearly, the marketing people are able to handle some planes having more space than others, and some E+ seats having more space than other E+ seats, even on the same plane type.

To clarify, UA's a bit behind in seat maps - things aren't as crazy as they appear.

73G - All domestic are 37/34/30*.
The oddball version #1 73G is a single aircraft in GUM and should get slimlines soon. *3 aircraft in GUM have E+34 plus a few rows with 35E+

738 - All aircraft are 37/34/30.
The oddball version #1 738, which is obsolete after slimline completion

739 - All 739 are 37/34/30-31.
The oddball version #3 739 is the 39M and for some reason UA's showing the exit row seating pitch, which exists, but is not shown on other seat maps. Along with the slimline lav, there must be a slight difference in F seats so that more E+ seats are included.

A few pretty random updates:

763:
N684UA - The flight aware link is broken, it's missing the "U" in UA at the end.

Regarding N588HA/N684UA: GYR has a couple of MRO organizations there in addition to the 'boneyard' organizations. One of the organizations specializes in engine maintenance and the other in modification work. It's possible everything may be done at GYR but I wouldn't be surprised to see all of the mechanical heavy lifting get done at GYR and then interior work get done at HKG. I'm not sure what the FAA rules are on this but its conceptually possible.

E145:
N846HK - Painted in TSA House Livery. Currently listed as unsure on the fleet site.
. This makes sense since it looks like it is doing runs for both UA and AA right now.

E175:
N87360 - In-service. Currently listed as just delivered on the fleet site
