That was a response to a claim that UA wouldn't possibly add pitch on these 70-seat E-175s because the marketing people wouldn't allow them to do that, for consistency's sake. Clearly, the marketing people are able to handle some planes having more space than others, and some E+ seats having more space than other E+ seats, even on the same plane type.
