United has reconfigured its 757-300 planes to increase density, primarily by adding non E+ seats (1 fewer E+ seats, 22 more E seats).
New Configuration
Boeing 757-300 (753)
24F 54E+ 156E
Post 165 assesses Seats 7DE (and 8ABC) (summary - watch out)
The armrest between 23 B/C and D/E is movable.
The inboard armrest on 23A & F is fixed and contains the tray table.

Is it recommended that one pays for early boarding on this aircraft type if there's additional carry-on?
On our return leg from TPE (via SFO and ORD), we had B-fare tickets and E+ seats. For carry-ons, we had a duffel bag under max regulation size, my back pack, and my wife's messenger bag. Two of the bags can't be gate-checked (containing a laptop and a tablet, respectively), and the duffel bag contained all of the goodies we bought on our trip (desserts from Taiwan and Japan in cardboard gifting boxes). Finding space for these bags weren't an issue on EVA 787 with 9 seats abreast and 31" pitch, but on the 757-300 with 34-38" pitch, we had no overhead storage left by the time we boarded (somewhere in the middle of Group 3).
One flight attendant finally took pity on us and found space for the duffel in first class overhead bin and secured the backpack behind row 6. What's even more interesting is that we had no issue finding space for these items on our final leg of the trip from ORD, on a CRJ-200, despite having seats full all-around us.
It was quite the contrast in traveling experience, as we got upgraded to lie-flat seats on TPE to SFO and got to enjoy the amenities of the Polaris Lounge at SFO.
Oh, and the aircraft was incredibly loud, which is something I didn't notice on either the CRJ-200 nor the widebody aircrafts.

23 A/F is window exit row w/ no legroom restriction. 35 A/F (I can't remember last time I sat back there) is a door exit row and may have bulge at bottom of door that restricts legroom. Since they're not sold as E+, I'm pretty sure that bulge exists. Can't comment on armrest.

Major reason for fixed arm rest is the tray table is in the armrest. That will apply to 35A/F and all of row 35

My normal go to on this bird is 23A/F, but they're taken on my next flight. What is the consensus on 8F? Looking for leg room and ability to exit the seat without doing the limbo around 8 A/B. Thoughts?

11D and F or 23?
On a ORD-LAX tomorrow, 1 we have got 11 D and F, hoping for an empty middle. It is empty at the moment. 23 DEF are open right now. My guess is that the middle seat in 23 would not stay open, but is that still the better seating?

Very first world problem...but looking at booking a 757-300 flight for 2 and 1A is already booked and rest of the cabin is open. Does the E/F side have the cutout as I've always managed to score a 1A or B when travelling solo? I'm thinking it would be rude to book 1B/1E and claim it's so we both have aisle seats?...also thinking that only works with we're in the exit row and we each get an aisle if one has the cutout and the other doesn't...hence I'll be on the galley side in that case . I'm leaning toward just an A/B combo and keeping an eye on the seat chart to see if the 1A cancels. Any advice if any of the other seats have an advantage beyond 1A/B? Thanks...it's been awhile since I was on a 757-300 and was excited for a fleeting moment.

There is nothing rude about a couple reserving opposing aisle seats. 🎶 ✈ 💚 🌈
