At least all the people who fail to get upgraded will enjoy a more comfortable flight. The OP's flight is an HD 772 packed to the gills...talk about a sardine can taking to the friendly skies

Whoever end up as #1 on this flight has probably purchased the most expensive domestic coach ticket of all time

Or a displaced GS on a full J fare
Air Houston likes this.

As a GS I don’t look past the first page too often, but I was about position 10 on the waitlist on a DCA-IAH flight in November. And I seem to end up #1 on the list on that route often. I suppose all the other GS’s pay for F. Senator Cruz flies in the back. Based on his position on the upgrade list I’d estimate that he is Gold.

It is CES time in Las Vegas. The whole city is parked to the gills. It is a week I won't go downtown or to the strip for anything. I did go down there one year to make some pictures for a client and it was a real nightmare.

about 75 on a 320 going ORD-IAH. I was just happy to have an E+ seat on that flight.

If you were a GS then, the list was probably broken.

I'm presuming that's a reference to the length of their upgrade list, not their position on it...

Not the longest I have seen (SFO-DEN on the last day of Dreamforce takes that cake) but 46 in the list on UA1783 on Sunday (1/12) EWR-TPA on a 752. Thankfully I was in paid F.

The upgrade list had 93 names on last Friday's ORD-SFO 4:05 PM flight. A 1K standing near me while waiting to board showed me his boarding pass for a middle seat in economy.

Hardly compares to some of the other lists, but kind of comical anyway.

IAD-RDU a few days ago on a CR7 (6 seat F cabin, 4 booked, 2 avail). I was 16/29. 29 waiting to upgrade on a 50 seat RJ.

This doesn't top several already mentioned but yesterday DFW-IAH, a 737-700 (114 Y seats) had 61 on the UG list. The 1K Corral was appropriately named... when they called us it was truly a herd.

This is by no means the longest I have ever seen - was on a flight out of SFO a couple of years ago where the list was in excess of 100 names, but on a SAN-ORD flight on a Sunday morning at 6.30 am on a A319 the number of names is 25. Not a hub to hub flight and on a Sunday morning. Not including the 12 FC seats out of 114 seats (and it is fully booked) that is more than 20% of the pax on the upgrade list. Although not as high a percentage as JimInOhio on the DFW-IAH flight I am surprised at the number. My 1K son is #7 on the list (it is a CPU for him). As there are only 7 booked out of 12 I am thinking he is going to enjoy E+
