I have seen 117! FC was checked in full (I was in the high teens) -- this was IAD-SFO Friday afternoon.

The longest for me was 134 on a 757-200 from SFO to EWR with FC full. More then half the flight lined up in Zone 1 .. if you were in Zone 2 finding overhead room was a challenge.

Are you talking Standby or Upgrade Wait list? Very significant difference. IAD-LAX on a Monday morning overflowed the screen waiting for a non-existent CPU.

97 people on a 739 SFO-ORD last Thursday evening, w/ F checked in full. I was in the mid 20s on an L fare. Probably not the longest list ever, but considering the size of the Y cabin (147), that's 66% of the Y cabin on the UG list when the doors closed. Further, since 3 people cleared, that's a 3% UG rate on the flight.

I've seen triple digits in hub to hub on a somewhat common basis. I can recall at least seeing it six times last year. I specially recall an ORD-SFO one last year after a bad weather day that reached 142. Numerous duplication of names from standby list also on upgrade list so by no means was it everyone on our plane.

Obviously not triple digits, but did see 40+ on a flight this week on a RJ that had 70-ish seats.
Over 50% of the plane on the UG list is pretty wild for an aircraft with 6 total F seats.

highest number: about 145 on a big plane (767 maybe?) from SFO to IAH a few years ago
highest percentage by total # seats: about 120 on an A320 from SFO to EWR

list, at least 101+ people will not make the upgrade. Out of those 101
people, how many believe in miracles? "hey, I'm 97 on the list, but
there is still a chance... difficult, but not technically impossible..."

Let's say the plane has 16 empty first class seats. With 117 people on the

Speculation: Ex-hub to a non-vacation/kettle destination popular enough to justify 10 non-stops on that date and the departure that leaves after "business hours" plus enough time to get to the airport on a Thursday = many work week (frequent) travelers returning home.
